Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Here you go you scabs and trolls. Straight out the horses mouth.

"Rich Young, a Verizon spokesperson, told Motherboard that the company has filled “thousands” of temporary job openings as the strike has progressed. He said that the temporary workers are being used to provide relief for the middle managers, lawyers and accountants whom the company deployed to work as replacements as the strike has unfolded.

Young said the typical job duration for the temporary Verizon workers is two weeks. He said they will not be receiving healthcare benefits during their employment. He added that the company was finding strong interest for temporary positions among unemployed people and college students."

Keep telling yourself that we will be gone if it makes you feel better. Maybe it's time to move into the next subject.

Maybe Rich Young can clarify. The point that most of you trolls, whether you work for Verizon or not, don't seem to realize is that hiring permanent replacements to replace the union workforce is not very cost effective or cost efficient. Nor is it an easy task to accomplish. Also what you people don't understand is that most of the Verizon footprint is a closed shop. For those that don't understand what that means is that any new hire is automatically part of the union. It doesn't matter if you like it or not and wishing it weren't true won't change that basic fact. A contract will eventually be reached with the union and we will come back at some time or another. I'll also admit that I'm not so sure we will win in the end but it's also not out of the question. Only time will tell. Until then I will enjoy the extra time with my family. And yes I am one of the ones who is prepared and also has enough skill to bring money home if/when I need to. Good luck to the ones caught up in this sh-- and who are good people. The rest of you a--holes rooting for the demise of all our families you can go f--- yourselves. I feel bad for your parents that they have to claim you as their child.

So confused on how the temp time is averaging 2 weeks. I thought temps were getting 90 day or so contracts? I doubt people are being at NCC for just 2 weeks. Can someone clarify?

Even if hourly they are paid more, without 401k, pension, healthcare, etc, they end up being cheaper.

I have a hired worker who has been here for four weeks already. With no training he has picked it up and out performs 80% of my union guys already. Give me 8 more of him and screw the union workers.

Can you read? Say temp worker duration usually two weeks. And you call union guys stupid? I wonder where that leaves you on the evolutionary scale?

Anytime you are hire for a Temporary Position the majority of those hired will vastly under perform whatever task they are assigned. They know they are not there for the duration and the harder the work the less effort. It will always be to the detriment of the hiring company. The only way to offset the known is to either over hire, or lie about the said employees chances of becoming a fully functional competent of the company over time. Either way it is always a waste of money unless the company is vastly overcharging their clients or trying to outright screw over another party. It is multiplied exponentially when you pay the Temp workers more than the original ones..

Luckily I don't have much VZ stock.. just a bit to make my portfolio spread.
