Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

The company argument, the union argument.

The company argument: Wireline is becoming obsolete. Many people don't even bother with a wired home phone anymore. We need to take advantage of globalization in order to stay competitive and that means off shoring call-center jobs. We need a flexible construction crew they can go where the work is needed. We need to control health care cost by having employees pay a larger share. We need to ensure future pensions replacing a 30 year cap on earnings.

The union argument: The company has lots of money so they should give some to us. Scabby scabby scab. Riffy Riffy riff. Look at my red shirt, I have a bullhorn, I had sex with your wife. Look at my hungry uninsured kids.

What is the difference between a whale and a CWA union striker? The whale is a magnificent creature! The striker is just a creature!

Nothing but Scab speak. They must not have put you into a meaningful Job or you would understand the Copper Plant is only a fraction of the Network of the Wireline business. I'm not going to waste my time explaining the intricacy of the core Network. You look that up yourself. Or maybe try to restore a customer and get off the net.

Union whales don't have reading comprehension skills. This will go way over their blowholes.
