Only way this is going to be over soon if the union comes back now accepting the LBFO. This so called mediation is a guise to run the clock out. There is a method to this madness. The message is accept this pain the stockholders will be rewarded

Call centers have already being moved to other locations. Contractors in the field are rolling out. Keeping everyone on the hook and giving glimpses of light at the end of the tunnel is part of the plan.

As Lowell stated the 1st 3 months is rough. Then people start accept the reality and it's no longer in the news. It's barely in the news now. You have to really dig to find coverage.

You can't fire strikers when they are on strike and can't hire permanent workers due to labor laws. As for RIF's, there are always RIF's thanks to 2008 fiasco. There are people who are still working since the last strike.

You scream RIF. is that suppose to hurt feelings? Do you get it? You are being f---ed by vz and by your leaders. Good luck to you guys. You can be stoic all you want. This anger towards the EWA and contractors is misplaced. We have jobs and are following through with our obligations in life whatever thay may be.

You need to worry about your livelyhood. Posting on this site and yelling at strangers like a crazy person does not address the real issue. Your presence needs to be where it matters.

it looks like time is running out for the union.

It is already over. VZ got exactly what it wanted - a flexible staff of contractors who they can draw up and down + move around at will. Why on Earth would VZ want this strike over today?

The union may be able to come back @ LBFO terms but I think that is too generous at this point - everybody knows this business has deteriorated in the last month and this strike has cost the company money that was to pay for those LBFO concessions. I am sure the bargaining teams realize this pie gets smaller and staler everyday.
