The Bargaining Committee met with the company this morning.The company couldn’t tell us how it would handle the process of telling you what kind of doctor you can treat with, or how it plans on handling the application of limiting your access to State and Municipal Leave laws, or all of the particulars on the routing of calls under the Call Sharing Agreement….but it want us to sign on the dotted line.
While doing our part to bargain in good faith, reports began to roll in that the company had mailed the membership an Overnight FedEx package containing its version of what its comprehensive proposal meant. This company’s arrogance has no limit. Can you imagine how many millions of dollars was spent on this desperate act? This is money that is better spent on the current contract.
Does this company actually believe that showing you its attempt to go into the pockets of all of our retirees for medical, its push to increase active members healthcare costs across the board, its desire to send employees out of state and away from their families to work, its routing of calls to subcontractors, to freeze pension provisions, to close centers and uproot families…
That this is somehow going to help its position in this bargaining?!! This only exposes what we have outlined all along: it is not enough for this corporation to be raking in $1.8 billion dollars in profit a month through your hard work, It wants more from you. More givebacks. More costs passed along to you.
From Lowell McAdam’s lips and in the company’s ads it has asked “why strike?”. I hope they sent this same package to McAdam—it’s got the all the answers he’s looking for!
Tell Verizon to stop wasting money on junk mail and SCABS that do lousy work, if they do any at all.
Our customers deserve better. Send a clear message to the company that this pathetic action and waste of money could be better spent at the bargaining table.
Write on the package: “RETURN TO SENDER- BARGAIN AT THE TABLE!” and drop it off at a FedEx drop box. Take a picture of it and post to social media.
