Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Take a minute and read this. Realize that Verizon's offer, just like the last two contracts were, is a small step backward. http://www.ushistory

Take a minute and read this. Realize that Verizon's offer, just like the last two contracts were, is a small step backward. Our leaders have been and will continue to sell us out. Getting us to strike long enough to pay for any "gains" with our lost wages. We need to remove these leaders. Stay strong. And stay out for as long as it takes to force Verizon to sign a fair contract.

Or... go work somewhere else where you can control your own wages, benefits, healthcare, etc.

The problem is that union workers think that all they've worked for is cumulative. It should always get better. The work and the world never changes. And, let's not forget that as a union worker, it's in your DNA to envy what someone else has that you don't!

Go start your own business where you risk your own money AND make sure to hire union workers so that every few years, they can pout when they don't get what they want. They are all about dictating what someone else gives them. Seems to me that if someone isn't giving you what you think you are worth, then leave and go somewhere where your talents are appreciated. YOU ARE NOT FORCE TO WORK FOR THE GREEDY VZ COMPANY, right??? YOU CHOOSE TO. You are not chained to this company. It's a choice.

@H9bdEJ4-fgg , Tell that to the 5000 management employees, (most were top performers) who were laid off last year. Call us dead weight is an insult. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Most of us in the really real world keep our jobs because we perform well. We work hard so we don't get laid off and get raises. Its a little thing called work ethic. We don't have a 3rd party outside group forcing our employer to keep us on even when we don't do a good job. In fact, the dead weight anchors who don't work are what drag any business down. Now with that said, I have met in my years many hard working people in and out of unions but they never said they are letting an employer take advantage of them. To me this is a lazy statement that implies no involvement in your own well being. I have left jobs where I wasn't happy. In order to raise your kids right and pay your bills and live right you work hard. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Whose to blame if you agree to let your employer take advantage of you?

Meanwhile the rest of the people employed in the US have 401k's, pay for their health insurance, don't have guaranteed jobs.....the backwards you are referring has been here for years. Welcome to the real world, grow up
