The language say's Verizon has the right to contract out work....It doesn't say how much, only that they don't have "plans" not to right now. They need to specify how much contracting can be done ....They refuse to. Only that they can contract out What???? all the work? It also say's the call "routing" will only be done if there is no one on duty to answer a call. What the hell does that even mean? Verizon screwed NYC in the Language of the City Fios deal and it has been proven.........There at it again...We have to dig past all the B.S to see the real deal. They are masters at deception in contracts.. If you look at this one on face value...you say where do i sign? You will later regret that signing like NYC did.

I don't understand how the union is seen as being greedy. They are not asking for anything new other than a cost of living increase each year. The job doesn't get any easier, productivity numbers always go up every year. So how is it greedy to try to hold on to what you have? I understand it is Verizon ' s company to run but how is it fair to ask your employees to to the same job for less when you are posting extremely good profits every month and paying a good dividend to the stock holders? It's not reasonable and no way to treat the people that keep the business running. Look how they treat the lower management, I feel bad seeing how poorly they are treated now.

Explain to me how you think you will be gone based on what is written on that contract? I agree with you since vz is going to sell wireline even with an active contract, but there is nothing in the contract that I could see outside of the proposed length (2 vs 3 years). If anything it provides you a level of job security greater than even Lowell.

A QAR is a Quality Assurance Review. It is a discipline tool to falsely accuse a field technician after an investigation of his prior day's work. Managers have sued Verizon over them, stating they were forced to wrongly discipline technicians. Google McKEOWN v. VERIZON NEW JERSEY INC.

" Whats a qar?"

A fairly new type of "investigation" performed mostly on technicians which only excludes waterboarding otherwise it would legally qualify as torture...let's just say that 9 out of 10 QARs end up with 30 day suspensions with a 2-year final warning for the stuff that no one would dare bring up as a valid point five years ago...

To put it mildly: even if we were to return to work with all the other issues resolved but with these still in place, I'll be putting my papers in shortly...if I wanted to be treated like a criminal I would've become one many decades ago.

@jYf What good is all those"fair" increases and proposals if i don't have a job? Verizon has you fooled with there PR sh-t also. Take a deeper look into what they put on the table. We are Gone in a few years with what they have there. Do you really think we want to be on Strike, and we are greedy?.........No, we are fighting for our job's.

At least there was civility and a reasonable explanation in your reply. More than I usually receive. Whats a qar?

"At this point how much money and job security do you guys want? "

What we have now on both ends would be just fine with me personally. But there are other major issues...

Kill the QARs, for good, and in writing.

Kill the "Sunday as a part of the workweek" proposal for the states where it doesn't already exist as practice.

Kill all and any proposals regarding transfers of work.

Find a "middle of the road" solution for medical and disability benefits.

That would be good enough for me. For everyone else, YMMV.

You guys had me on your side until you gawked at a contract with a ton of fair givebacks. At this point how much money and job security do you guys want? Frankly you guys come off being greedy too.

" Just look at NYC, Unions fading fast."

Absolutely, positively, the worst place one could find to substantiate such a claim...
