Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Health Care wedge provision for new hires at retirement. Ohhh that is soooo snicky snicky... lol

New England IBEW.. Attachment 2

Retiree Benefits

Provision Description Company Contributions For New Hires For those hired on or after the Effective Date, there will be no Company contributions toward retiree medical or dental; this coverage will be on an “access only” basis (to receive coverage, the individual will be required to pay the full cost of coverage).

So further on down the line when a contract comes up and whatever company is coddling us, if they try to water down retiree benefits for those eligible, if you have by then say 10,000 who are not getting squat.. Will they support a strike? Snickyyyyy snickkkky Verizon..

How hard did the union or its members fight to save the 30K employees that were let go in 2009-2011? Not at all. You know why? Because it didnt affect them, not one bit. When you have 2 groups of employees, 1 with job security, the other without, im sorry, there is nothing unified about that.

"How does the union only care about pre 2003 people."

Nope. Its clear that this "union" only serves those that were hired before 2003.
