This job is easier than my day job. But it still is hard... just more labor intensive.

Completed 2 full installs, 3 tickets and 2 assists to other EWAers today. No big deal. Get to see my family every night and making a ton of cash... if the RIFs come, so be it. Another 10 weeks paid while I look for other work. Not worried though. Turned down 2 offers last year because I did not want to loose my end of year bonus.

If anything, I would feel insulted as a union worker that someone with a week of training could do my job. Granted it is not as good as you do, but we are getting by. I doubt 1% of union workers could do my job if you got 52 weeks of training.

Ok then, have a great time...This is your home for a while, so you might as well get used to it here. I'm sure it will be great to see the family visit you. and probably be tough to say good bye at the end of there visit when they get to return home, and you get to stay here and do installations. Now Go to sleep already, turn off that hotel TV, finish up that take away food, check the family photo's on your phone before setting your alarm for tomorrow's 12 hours. Sweet dreams :)

Actually, I'm enjoying myself. Have been "salaried" since I graduated college 20+ years ago (good salary) - never got to enjoy the benefits of overtime. Loving every minute of it. Family planning to come up - paid by company - next week for a few days, take in some sights,make a vacation. I even get time off when they get here - 4 days actually. And taking 1 tomorrow. Not so bad. And is far easier than my "regular" job.

@1lmj

I know, New York is a f---ing sh--hole.

That's probably the single bad thing about this. The people are horrible, and the pizza isnt even good.

next month you'll be rif'd by the this great company you love and enjoy the fact that you helped make it this way. this strike is not good for anyone, the company or the workers. hope it can end in a fair deal.

Our local had 3 people cross just to inform us as to the conditions. Fools are paying them to inform the union of conditions by the way really poor performance EWAers.

You realize EWAs have two days off now? They also have opened vacation requests up.

Company is paying for all travel or paying to bring your family to you to sight seen (you also get money for expenses)

Starting on day 21 we get even more. I'm making almost 18 grand a month but unfortunately that is going to end as pretty soon my center is going to 8-6 hours since our call volume is completely under control.

I'm sure you're going to call me a troll/shill/whatever. I could care less.. almost all of this is posted in the handbook/crowd around.

Stay strong so I can keep getting paid, eating for free and getting mileage everyday. Tons of people crossed today and more will cross tomorrow. Either way this is over by summer with or without you.

Actually, the kids and I are driving to see the wife over the weekend. We are staying at the full service Marriott and the kids will be swimming both days. Saturday night we are going out for a nice dinner and maybe a family movie in the room. Thanks to the union for the great weekend at minimal cost to us. We even plan on doing this next weekend too.

I'm having a blast and will pull in about $30,000 in the next few weeks. We will do our Sanibel Island later in the year -- flying first class with the money I'm earning. I'm sorry you'll have to be watching your pennies while you're there because you're out of work and have no income or benefits.
