Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Day 15. 80000 service issues (repairs). That seems to be less than a days amount of work for 36000 Union workers

When asked if union leaders’ allegations had any validity, spokesman Raymond McConville released the following statement to Patch on Wednesday:

“This is nothing more than noise from the union that is meant to distract from actual issues that need to be negotiated at the bargaining table. The reality is that our management workforce is doing an admirable job serving our customers during this strike. Since the strike began, we’ve cleared more than 80,000 service issues and our maintenance load isn’t very different than what it was before the strike began. Those are the facts.”

Are you using google translate or something? Your post makes no sense. I think your trying to say 1/4 of untrained people are doing the job of the whole union workforce?! Well if that's why you think then I have a bridge to sell you. Also no one is talking about the EMPTY and I mean EMPTY wireless stores. Support is high for us and Verizon IS felling it! Nice try though. Or should I say, though try nice? Lol

To ndj. Exactly, a skilled workforce is a tremendous asset to a company. It can not be replaced in a day , a month or a year. What did Lowell expect with this nonsense, to become the corporate hero. He' screwing everybody. Every worker. Every customer. Every shareholder. Some things will take years to be undone

"and our maintenance load isn’t very different than what it was before the strike began."----

That's because it's exactly the same. Ewa's have done nothing and nobody can get through to customer service to generate more

Love the Union replies hard to grasp a 1/4 of your work force not trained with the years you have behind you are keeping things afloat... have the basics and though we don't have the experience were keeping up... Unions mentality they can't be replaced is clear on the companies tracking system ...it might be tommorow meetings the Union reps get these figures which apparently are norm for Union employees...produced by less than 1/4 of employees...feeling unreplaceable now? Keep paying the union, get superior benefits, thinking not...the union will settle tmrw just in time to salvage what they can and union employees will be paying for comparable benefits to the majority of verizon employees. If this hadn't gotten so ugly toward the 130k verizon employees non union we might be more supportive we like our jobs... we are not entitled just do our jobs

A bunch of tickets are being closed out with no dispatch...

The management staff are working hard and actually have a really good attitude bout it all. Yes, we miss our families very much, but the company is doing everything they can to make it as seemless as possible. The money is nice, but honestly this isn't what I envisioned doing. I spent years in Grad school and would rather do my normal job. And no matter how hard we try, of course we won't do as good a job as those who have years of experience. One thing I wish others understood is that we have no choice to be here. Just like the union workers, we need our jobs so this is what we have to do for now. I have zero animosity towards the unions and hope this works out for everyone. Just remember, we all are moms and dads just like you who loves our families. Let's keep that in mind and support each other and not tear each other up on boards like this. Be safe EWA workers, and our union workers as well. This too shall pass!

Nothing new here. Before the strike Verizon would just close out repair tickets to gain credit for first dispatch resolution. Repeater rates didn't matter. No access hospitals, police departments, nursing homes....ect, all fair game in the quest to make unrealistic numbers. Much like when Verizon make claims to wall street about new customers when clearly none exist. To Verizon, a new customer is any upgrade of existing services for an existing customer. Business as usually. Audit Verizon now!

I personally know people that have switched because they couldn't get their service restored...People need the internet more than anything, and waiting a week for it is not an option.
