This really looks like a big win for the craft and unions. They really made their point. And Google or Amazon might really buy the company, which would not be bad for the unions either. I would recommend taking the win, now rather that trying for an overkill situation, which benefits no one.
Your leadership makes that decision. That's what you're paying for. Sorry to break that to you.
if you don't agree or don't like the proposal the company made, what would be the one you want more?

This actually looks like a pretty successful negotiation for the unions and the company. The added benefit for the unions are that they were able to once again remind the company that they are not easily replaced, and educate the managers on who the business actually operates from the customer's and field employee's view.
But as someone posted, the devil is in the details. Although give all of Verizon's bad press, I can't imagine the company wants much more of this.
@ykd the "brotherhood" that put us on the street to fend for ourselves? No strike fund, no assurance that they will assist with necessary medical benefits, and no solid answers regarding COBRA? The brotherhood that threatens to fine people $100 for missing a picket duty? Yeah... some brotherhood.
I'm a 28 year union member.present it to membership..Keep 401 and pension..Job security.sh-- more then the rest of the employees..I'd sign in a heartbeat.were fighting for Our Jobs all 40000 of them first and foremost.

Watched videos and read proposals looked OK. We gain nothing being on strike. I say accept or let members vote on it. I am also aware that sometimes the true devil is in the details.

only read the IBEW one, but where do I sign? If the Union doesn't present this offer to the membership for ratification, it's lights out for the union. 4000 members are not going to sit at home not getting payed so a handful of call center workers don't have to commute.
Then company gets an impasse declared, and you get that offer or nothing... just remember, the REAL minimum wage is $0
Good idea. Throw the offer in the trash and don't return to work. Verizon would like to write-off your inflated antiquated pension benefits.
