Enough of the nonsense. All these "sacrifice everything for the union" types are poison. Seriously! When it all comes down neither the union nor the company are there for you. It's all a nice dream to stand all together when you have a leg to stand on, but the writing is on the wall. Best to know when to fold 'em guys. The OP is right on the money. No amount of striking will prevent what is coming down over the next couple of years at Verizon. Time to man up and look out for your family.
Well, if I made 300k a year. I don't think I would be trolling on some BS layoff/strike site!!! I would be too busy enjoying my life. I wouldn't have time to start petty arguments with middle class union people on a message board. Give me a break!!!

Verizon screwed New York City in the language of the contract of there FIOS build out. So much so that it went to the City Counsel hearings, and Verizon prevailed under a technicality in the language.....They are masters of screwing you in the language of contracts, that's what they do. The language here is filled with contingencies.
