Yes it will be good if mediation comes in and everyone is back to work. I'm not holding my breath on it happening though.

" Isn't it a good thing for either EWAers or CWAers?"

No. From the union's standpoint anyway.

Mediation brought us the worst contract in the history of Bell Systems the last time around.

As for the EWA folk, I'll leave it for them to answer...

It doesn't matter who call for the meeting right now. If both sides accept mediation, everybody can go back to their normal life. Isn't it a good thing for either EWAers or CWAers?

@H7sDHL4-niz,

If the company had the Union by the short hairs, why do they entertain a meeting whatsoever ??

Just to be clear ---> The union pleaded for the mediated meeting.

This is a weak union. And does not care for new hires. If they are fighting for job security for employees that have been there before 2003 then how does it protect the future of a new hire. It is all b.s. anyone has a problem with this post u can stick it up your ass

Before the strike, Verizon asked for Federal Mediation but Union didn't respond. All the benefits and medicare will be gone at end of this month. Before that day, Verizon might ask the union again about mediation. If union refused to accept it, things could get ugly. I still hope union can get a fair contract, so everybody could go back to their normal life. Good luck everyone.
