Post ID: @H7GNRva-1rsn Damn even as a Conscientious Objector in the Union based solely on thier support for the Communist left, I have to agree with the overall sentiment in this for many on these picket lines. Not all but a decent amount. Hard to imagine if any of them have and are raising children.
Why should/would we quit? Calling us monkeys and insulting our intelligence? I guess that makes you a jackass. Why should we quit when many of us have been here for 15 yrs or more? We have a vested interest in finishing our careers here. Quitting when we have a voice would be something an ass aka you, would do. Many of us happen to like or even love the JOB. Verizon used to be a great environment to work in until our brilliant leadership was put in place. I see a lot of ewa people on here complaining about their situation and saying they have no choice but to do the assignments. Should we feel sorry for you? Of course we should and most of us do! We are on strike because the company wants cart Blanche to do the same to us, up to, or most likely for two months at a time. If you had a voice to protest, wouldn't you? That's what lost on these vteamers who are rooting against us. I and most of the people on the picket lines are fighting for our livelihood and our families because we can! And as far as people STILL saying we are not needed and overpaid. There are people from all across the country who were flown in to cover for us. We are essential. And the little overpaid arguement? Even a jackass should be able to understand Verizon offered a raise to us. Your own team negates your whole premise. Maybe you should get upset with Verizon and QUIT if you don't like it!!!
@rsn
How long have you worked for VZ and what keeps you there? Does change truly energize you?
And I was just starting to get a good tan going!
The obvious irony is lost on the grade school graduate picket monkeys! You Fuks spend so much time bashing and bemoaning the very company you so desperately want to work for. If you ever asked yourself the question why do you want to work for Verizon, the answer is that you know you can't make that kind of money and bennies anywhere else with your remedial education. BTW; bemoaning means whining in your language!
I saw an EWA worker absolutely sh-tting himself on a ladder today. This better end before someone get's hurt. If anything stop climbing....If your comfortable doing it..... Don't.
And then the other kicker is, if they do hire permanent or temp workers they automatically become part of the union. Verizon is a closed shop. Good luck getting rid of us no matter who is working.
Lol. Verizon hasn't hired anyone permanent in the field since 2003. They ONLY hire "temp" workers. That's another way this shady company operates. Hire you for the longest they can before they have to pay benefits and then it's bye, bye. Next sucker, oh I'm sorry, temp worker please step up.
This text is what scares the bejezzus out of me.
"The right to hire permanent replacements gives the employer the ultimate hammer in bargaining. "

I guess you skipped this paragraph. Not sure why you think the union is on strike but this is a nlrb strike. The company is refusing to negotiate any Vz wireless contract and are refusing to take some demands off the table. If you investigate some more you will find out that not negotiating in good faith is a nlrb violation. Just because they say they are offering a raise and refusing to budge on critical needs of the union is not considered good faith. Also, to all of a sudden declare that they want mediation 12 hrs before a strike doesn't mean that they are acting in good faith. I know the "union thugs" are a rough crowd but they aren't as stupid as I'm sure you look. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to you.
"There is one important limit to an employer's right to hire permanent replacements. If the NLRB finds that the employer's unfair labor practices caused or prolonged the strike, strikers are entitled to return to employment if they decide to end their strike and make an “unconditional offer to return to work.” Thus “unfair labor practice strikers” are entitled to reclaim their employment; purely “economic” strikers are not."
"If union comes back Monday with nothing gained and no contract than you guys went out for nothing ."
True. But that's not going to happen.
If union comes back Monday with nothing gained and no contract than you guys went out for nothing .
"This is Verizon's plan."
That's one heck of an interesting article that you've linked in your post, and definitely a good read.
Having said that, the strategy in question would make sense if VZ top brass had any intent of staying in the wireline business. They don't. That much has been very clear over the past 4-5 years.
After the contract is signed, East Coast will be unloaded to Frontier in no time.
"Nah the CWA has Lowell by the nards, one paw grippin each nut. Last I herd from the local they reached deep in the coffers to get the Ultimate Necromancer to resurrect Chris Dorner, who hopped into a sick bug eye Subaru WRX and is peeling out and doing SICK donuts in mcadmins front lawn! This man can't be cornered, or stumped, like to see the fat cats on wallstreet react to this!!"
LMAO Union leadership running scared because the 1st looms.
I heard over one million contractors showed up today! Just to do the work of 40k union workers!
Not almost over. Over 150 contractors showed up at training today. You were delayed because of the contractors are being trained to eventually become employees to replace the union employees.
The article at the URL below should be read by all union employees. This is Verizon's plan.

ibu what you write is more true than you can imagine. In addition to the assinine number of emails, what the managers actually do is put together PowerPoin presenations, and spreadsheets, all day, everyday. Most of which are never really reviewed by anyone. That is partly why many managers don't mind working in the field, because their own jobs are just mindless manipulations of numbers and words.
Managers get paid to sit at their desks, send and receive email and keep tabs on those beneath them, not actually fix things. thats why there is such a bloodbath out there since the union left and these scabs and managers are like a fish out of water.
I hope not, I want more OT, then hopefully a 35 week severance package after that. Love the $$$.
I'm sure you will, bhv. Thats the union way, right? Break one, fix one?
@H7GNRva-djb is the worst kind of scab. It will take us a couple of weeks just to 'fix' what you idiots 'fixed'.
What a moron this idiot is. He is truly what is wrong with Verizon, where this dolt actually gets paid to be an idiot.
They better get back to work before nonunion workers (not scabs, get ur facts straight) show everone how fast the jobs can really be done. Only way to keep that from happening is to sabotage. Pitiful wussy behavior. You want the company and your coworkers to give a crap about you and u do that stuff? Eff u. Im sure none of you approve of that behavior, right? but im sure ur happy about it. Shows your character. Hope none of ur family needs an ambulance when the lines r cut.
I hope not, this has been nice, relaxing with the fam
I don't understand the union mentality... First you are bashing the company how horrible they are and what an awful company to work for and your job is horrible... Now you guys are like WOO-HOO we are coming back...and you will come back with no new contract.. And in the end when a new contract is agreed upon you will lose so much..so the way I look at it is your life basically sucks...
Nah the CWA has Lowell by the nards, one paw grippin each nut. Last I herd from the local they reached deep in the coffers to get the Ultimate Necromancer to resurrect Chris Dorner, who hopped into a sick bug eye Subaru WRX and is peeling out and doing SICK donuts in mcadmins front lawn! This man can't be cornered, or stumped, like to see the fat cats on wallstreet react to this!!
EWA 800# not updated; don't believe it's true.
Newsflash, but from a real and not necessarily union-friendly source...

Hiccup.
Heard training is delayed also pending tomorrow's outcome
Newsflash! Bernie Sanders laying off hundreds in his campaign.
Lowell to fire everyone send Verizon to Singapore. Including himself.
Not here in fact scabs are being given option to go out of state to help provide support to EWA workers!!
Also heard company authorized hotel stays through July!
