Spoke to Union leadership in our Hall, 1107 in Rockland County NY, locals have no say this time around. Decisions being made above district level as well. We're headed for mediation under our old contract or possibly never coming back. Prepare for a long summer.

National bargaining is still taking place...maybe. No local has any honest info on how that is going. Maybe at the highest level of District one, but don't count on it. One thing is for sure, no one could keep a secret anyway if they knew. haha
This is what we know. Two weeks pay reduces the 2-2-2.5 percent increase in pay to 1-1-1 with 0.5% towards additional medical. How long will the strike go? Long enough for the company and union to close the gap in money for the cost of the contract. A side benefit is that the union can remain relevant in eyes of a few who were not around in 1989. Verizon gets to try out their EWA's for a work stoppage which by all accounts has failed. But the big move is that the wire-line assets can be sold to Frontier.
