Contractors have been in Leesberg for a few weeks now. They start tomorrow but are mainly doing big jobs like splicing, setting new poles, etc.
Our garage is doing fine. We are doing installs and today i had 3 future dated jobs... although they are future dating any job when it comes in.
Most are not trained... guy spliced 48 ribbon with a single splicer today...took him 14 hours...awesome!
you can't fix stupid.
The union proves that.
Ha, I have a paycheck.
You will lose your house.
Mommy, why are we under a bridge?
Union stupid
Not the original op that brought up the acterna but I did use one at the start of the fiber build over 10 years ago. These things were the worst.

I'll hopefully still have a working exfo 930 and a 100 when all this is said and done.
Point is Verizon is just throwing money away
I have a exfo otdr and exfo 930 too
Acterna makes an otdr. Funny mine is made by exfo
I'm not worried of losing my job but this strike might last for a few months unless something changes pretty quick
They were just loaning splice machines to contractors not giving them away
My boss was on a downed hub today. A squirrel literally had its contents for lunch. It really does happen more often than you think. Also fiber optics are NOT impervious to water and cold. You would be surprised how fragile it really is.
Every day the mountain of troubles grows. Every day the company continues to shed good will, and good paying customers. As lowmac and barney like to say: "making progress every day."
And btw. Any retired telecom worker that comes back is a sucker. The retires are also getting shafted big time with the company's offer. Can somebody say huge increased premiums? Hope they can bring their canes up the ladder with them!
Yeah true
And what is your point. We already knew they were bringing in temps. Also I'm sure they are internal employees. If they are not then Verizon is really dumb! Don't those machines cost a pretty penny? Don't let the hype get to you.
P.S. We call it a splice machine also
Oh ok I'm sorry they are using my 50 R fujikura splice machine and my exfo test set and also my acterna otdr....
"Yes correct splice machines to splice fiber cable with."
If you had any clue what you were talking about you would've used the proper term.
Go to sleep troll.
Yep!
And we will hunt them down one by one. And they will leave just as fast as they came in it will make your head spin
Oh I'm not worried or going to cross
Yes correct splice machines to splice fiber cable with. Happening in Washington DC and Manassas VA
It will be Christmas before they could possibly get up to any kind of speed...Wall Street is not going to wait that long....Hang tight.
No troll here....take it for what it's worth...
"Managers are handing out splice machines and tools off trucks. "
Splice machines? LOL.
Go troll someplace else please. And work on your English while you're at it.
Many are retired from other states.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. If they were any good they would either be working for a telecom right now, or out on strike. This company is getting justly roasted to a crisp. You can't fix stupid.
