I think the union employees deserve this "best and final" plus a clause that gives a new minimum base salary of $150k for call center employees and $225k for craft workers with a minimum wage increase of 10% annually.
Companies must start taking better care of the people who consistently do the job of half a person each day. These are the backbone of any strong corporate entity, and we simply don't recognize them enough.
Without these hardworking and brave employees it's very likely that today's corporate America wouldn't have coffee breaks, extended lunches, or free coffee. And the union folks have also provided valuable information surrounding the basic blueprints of how to maximize the HR system and expose loopholes when confronted by management about poor job performance. In short, they have given a new voice to the disenfranchised few who represent the bottom 15% of the workforce by obtaining the coveted "Needs Improvement" appraisal rating.
We can't continue to overlook this important and undervalued part of the workforce.
