"We are currently under the guise of window dressing for the diminishments already negotiated long ago."
This is the fear of many, truth be told.
" I have 30 years of examples I could roll off. "
I don't but can clearly see the roots of the disaster that has been thrown upon the craft side over the past several years in the 2003 contract...
We are currently under the guise of window dressing for the diminishments already negotiated long ago. This is evidenced in the past however many contracts. You could go all the way back to the one where Estimate Assignors pay was grandfathered and they combined the Facility and Estimate titles and dropped the pay to what Facility Assignors were paid but the wall never came down for responsibilities, just the level of pay for Estimate Assignors thus creating a division within a work group by this union give back. I have 30 years of examples I could roll off.
Again, they've become agents of the company. Note that Verizon is also a very left leaning corporation.. Have you noticed the countless safety bulletins you get in your email? Don't touch a hot stove.. , careful with that shovel.. , make sure you wipe yours assthoroughly, etc..
They have injected themselves into your personal life as a good leftist will do.. It's all about control with this Commie from the Union and Company.
What meeting? The EWA hotline has not been updated.
CWA has been at the table. Verizon refuses to bargain in good faith. Until they are serious, I think we will stay out on strike. We are not asking for anything more! Keeping everything the same!
first it was strike would be over today so the union wouldnt part with the strike fund money that supposedly is not there..
nice try
It was the union that called for a meeting. They are afaid scores of membership will cross on Friday. They are pushing to see if company will let them back and use a mediator.
Looks like Verizon is trying to get a deal done soon!
THE COMPANY WILL GET WHAT THEY WANT. THEY WON,UNION LOST. NICE TRY UNION SCUMBAGS.
Au contraire Savoir Faire, the company not only forced the unions out, but undertrained their replacements. As T-Mobile's CEO keeps pointing out, the company has been led by a bunch of dopes since the last strike. Not one single investment made since then has panned out and increased top line earnings. Not one.
Seems to me any customers have been hurt by the union. They are the ones who left them hanging.
Then the company leadership deserves to get crushed under its own hubris. They brought this stike on themselves. Every customer that has been harmed by this strike can trace that blame to building 4. Let the crushing begin.
They are meeting to discuss whether or not they will accept the union's offer to return on Friday working under the old contract and bringing in a mediator. The hanging point being that the company wants the old contract suspended so that they can move forward with their costs saving efforts and they want a no strike agreement while negotiations continue.
They will be deciding what type of scotch to sip on when they play the front 9 on Thursday.
Probably trying to stab Lowell in the back isn't that how it works.
Yes, which coarse they are going to play on.
