Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

So who is doing the ewa people's original job while on ewa?

Just curious.

I do project work to upgrade and improve a specific network over time- projects were put on hold... they'll be there when I get back, unlike the associate jobs.

EWA folks are even getting pulled from Wireless, and, yes, Wireless is feeling the pinch.

But, as m11 suggests, many of those EWA's may find themselves without a position to come back to - AFTER THEIR JOBS ARE OFFSHORED OR FILLED WITH H1B'S.

Don't deceive yourselves - the Indian mafia is ALIVE AND WELL at Verizon Wireless. It is their goal to fill every position with an Indian. The Indian Mafia has taken over management at all levels and they will not stop until American workers are literally begging for crumbs.

ymp , pat yourself on the back, you just proved your not needed at your previous job. You keep filling your head up with how good you do your job, while customers wait hours on calls and days and weeks for repair and installations.

Funny you should ask.our group doesn't have to deal with the never ending bs of the associate work force so we are doing their work now .. And let's just say it's been delightful ! The work we are getting done is amazing and I can honestly say that 50% of our associate work force should be embarrassed , The other 50 % always pulls their weight so they are missed

At least after a lot of overtime paychecks. This strike might be last months. Every EWAer is asked to be prepared for staying at the position for 3 to 4 months.

They (the EWA'ers) are self identifying as "non-essential personnel."

In other words, they are first on the RIF chopping block.

RIFs, RIFs...they already know that! You guys always talk about the RIFs as a secret that nobody knows. Save your energy on picketing.

All of their jobs were shipped to India. So I would imagine the street beggars and roving monkey clans are doing the jobs now. So the RIFs are on the launch pad as soon as the strike is over.

Contractors. At least for my group. They were already doing half the work anyway.
