I understand you feel you have the right to fight for what you believe in, as a spouse who has seen many strikes over the years I am still baffled by the situation.

These so called “scaps” are your co-workers! They didn’t have a choice, its either go or leave. Like you they are just trying to provide for their families, the situation sucks for them and for us left at home to keep things running. Don’t forget when this is all over you have to go back and work with these people, the way union people are treating them is a disgrace. If it was up to me I would fire all your asses and give the jobs to the countless of unemployed people who would gladly work for what we have.

As a Cancer survivor I thank god every day that I had Verizon health insurance, sure it cost a few bucks every paycheck but our “Cadillac” plan allowed me to see and get treated by the best doctors I could find with very little out of pocket when I was all done, try going thought this is Obama care was your only choice! Do you even understand how good we have it? As I sat in treatment with poison being pushed into my veins I had a lot of time to talk to others going thought the same thing, the stories of hospital, treatment bills that these people are facing made my head spin. What would you rather have, a few less dollars per week or a reduction in coverage? Trust me you do not want the latter. If you try to hold your ground in the co-pay issue they will have no choice but to supply a plan that will not cover what you have now.

Capped 30 year pension, again have you talked to a financial advisor lately? The bulk of the people in this country have no real means for retirement. You’re bitching because they want to stop it at 30 years, you will still have the ability to be part of an AMAZING 401 plan, a plan that blows every other company out of the water. Management’s pension were frozen years ago, but I can tell you that the 401 plan that we have has proven to be way more lucrative then the money we will see from our frozen pension plan. As Verizon employees, we as a whole, are way better off than the bulk of American’s and we should be counting our blessings every day

The one real point that I agree with is the shifting of work overseas, this is the ONLY point worth working for.
Sorry for such a long post, this is hard for everyone involved and hope it resolves soon.
