EWAs, can you remember back to the last time you actually had a spine and stood up for yourself? Maybe in high school or college when you actually had convictions and meant it? You haven't always been the sheep VZ turned you into, or, that's why you joined VZ....to check out of the game and just grow wool and eventually die. Is it envy, self-loathing, or the compulsion to self-destructive behavior that keeps you EWAs from supporting the only stakeholder group that actually benefits you? Sr leadership certainly screws you at every turn, customers don't care about your well-being, other EWAs are as self-absorbed as you are so divided you fall, leaving the Union. Almost every benefit an EWA has ever been granted can be traced back to a concession negotiated through collective bargaining. You're just a signature in the sand until you demonstrate some character, passion, and make a difference.

Can I ask a question? My husband is on EWA assignment. His sister is an associate. He says she is getting paid because she is taking some vacation days and they were not pre-planned. I'm wondering how do you get vacation days after you have walked out and are on strike?
ah yes the internet tough guy stuff. Whatever. Enjoy paying out of pocket medical expenses due to stupidity at the end of the month. EWA folks are making 1.5 time OT for work hours they already did without any pay in the past. Folks are tired but money talks and bullsht walks.

Wow must be a cool to have no union, you just tell the boss what you are going to do and he has to take it.

I'm on a EWA. Let me explain something to you. I don't do anything that I don't want to do. Can you understand this? I am working 12X7 with no days off because I want the reward of a fat paycheck. If, a few months from now, I decide I've had enough, I'll take a week or two off, with pay, and think about whether or not I want to come back. Can you understand this way of life? I don't ask for permission to take vacation time. I tell them I'm going and I go. I don't whine about unfairness. I choose to do what I want when I want and how I want. I don't worry about riffs or getting fired because I've always got other opportunities. Opportunities that I've worked hard for to make sure they're always there so I can live as I choose. Now, are you ready? 95% of my fellow EWAs live exactly this same way every f---ing day. Can anyone in a union understand this?
We're gonna form a long, long picket line...it's gonna be huge and we're gonna make Verizon pay for it. Then we're gonna kick the EWAs out of Verizon, since they're weak. EWAs are losers and very weak. We're gonna renegotiate our contract with Verizon so it's fair...right now it isn't fair. Verizon is crafty but they need us. If they push back, we'll just withhold our skills until they cave. Verizon has been terrible for a long time, just terrible. We spend way too much on employees so we're gonna get rid of some. We're gonna make Verizon great again and we're gonna win again. Lyin' Lowell and Crooked Fran are gonna get thrown out and we'll put some people in there that can win. Not lie and lose, but win and win big.
But if you join with the company, then you will just be 'the soon to be unemployed'.

What is it with you union people? Why should EWA and other non-union people be fighting your battles for you? You already get better benefits than any of us do. We happen to like our jobs.
