The wireless network was down hard south of canal st. There was no SS7 in lower Manhattan so the Laight St mobile switch was isolated and dead. Most of the cell network was cobbled together and back hauled to New Jersey by non-union cell and MSC Technicians. Ha!! Remember SS7?!?

I was at 140 West St. the very next day. There were only management people there for the first three weeks. The union sent nobody because they said it was to dangerous. We got Wall Street back in 12 days. The CO was on three portable generators. We ran cables down the outside of the building and even layed cable in the streets. Don't lie about something like 9-11.Shame on you.

No if he works here he probably has a degree in finance, IT, or marketing and has a skillset that is actually in demand outside vz. This allows him to be paid a very good salary as a result of a market value based on corporate competition and supply/demand, not due to a union. And if he wants to leave verizon he is smart enough to just leave and is able to find another job because he has continued to evolve an in demand skillset. The union saw the shrinking business and slimming profits for so many years and the smart members left a long time ago (you used to have 70000 members at vz). They adapted to the changing marketplace by evolving their skillset and continued to grow. What we have now is the bottom of the barrel.

And nobady wants your management position except that millenia kid that just got out of college with his arts degree. Once he gets it he realizes hes treated worse than a dog so he hides under his desk and his lips quiver.

You do realize that entry level mgmt earn many more peanuts than entry level union. There is a reason our jobs require a degree.

Funny thing is that while your bitching and complaining that we are "overpaid" the company is offering us a raise. How does that happen? Go fill in for us and make that real paycheck while you can. Pretty soon it's back to your cubical for the regular peanuts you are happy with. Lol. All you guys are so happy with the money you are making just remember that's outlet check on a weekly, permanent basis. Go cry to your boss and ask them why

Just another disgraceful post from the CWA

Yes, we all remember how the valiant CWAers fought their way through the smoke and dust, pulling broken circuits out of the rubble with their teeth! No thought for their own safety, never insisting on extra overtime pay, never complaining about having to work away from home.....
