@H3bUfPU-ckj but this is not about that. It has nothing to do with whoever the leadership says to vote for. This is about US! All of the Us, USs.
So F--- the union, since ALL of the presidential candidates already know what this is all about for us - and not one of them has stepped in to help the company,

I have seen it here a few times, but obviously it is not enough times. What the CWA and IBEW is fighting is an 'existential' battle for American ideals against a company which prefers globalist feudalism.
I was once one of those black shirted managers in 2011 who was on the otherside of those who wore red, but the world is a funny place and what has taken place at Verizon over the past five years is an obscene.
Everything is all surface at Verizon now. Like a Hollywood set town, all facade, no substance. And so it is with the CEO, COO, CTO, CFO, CMO.....Communications are about people and technology, but rather than embrace its own people, technology and the customers, the company smites them.
In the 1980s as business sciences were taking off Americans were shocked to find out how much Japanese bank tellers were paid as compared to minimally paid American tellers. The Japanese companies pointed out that the teller is the main interaction with the bank's customer and personally handles all of the bank's treasure. Wouldn't you want to compensate these employees well enough to take care of both the customers and the treasure?
Well apparently the company does not. And does not even know how to switch over technologies, although most if not all managers in the company do. You never flash cut over. You paralell until it is possible.
Right now the best technology for streaming video is fiber optics and the company has the best fiber optics Internet and video system ever built, but ignores it because it keeps looking for greener pastures. It forgets its own history and therefore is condemned to keep relearning it.
The Bell Companies invented the first 'transistor', at the same time that they continued to connect people together, plugging tip and ring into a big wooden board. The transistor is what started all of this technostakes. The company now thinks it can ONLY go down this single route to advertising success by selling out our customers, and must therefore stop reinvesting in all existing wireline properties because they are the past.
Well if you don't maintain what you own, it breaks down and becomes the past. But why would anyone want to trash a highly efficient, cash flow positive system for an unproven system, particularly, when the company's long term history going back to the transistor show that it is best to travel all profitable roads at the same time.
This manager stands with the union and against the lack of leadership at the top of the company. We are shareholders and stake holders in the company's long term success. What is happening at the top now is an effort to steal defeat from the jaws of victory.

Most intelligent people realize that the middle class has been shrinking over the past several decades and will continue to do so until the rich and powerful have everything. Others, will continue to be brainwashed by FOX news and consevative talk radio hosts and believe that unions are the problem and that everyone can succeed with hard work and determination. Tell that to the millions of overworked underpaid people that are constantly told how lucky they are just to have a job, as the millionaire class continues to outsource jobs and slash pay and benefits, just so they can have more of the pie. If you dont realize there is a wealth an oppurtuninity inequality problem in this country than you are part of the problem.

The corporation is not a human entity. Do you think that this company hopping pack of CEO's give two $h1ts about you or your family? Not in the least. They are building a future for their bloodline.

Anyone with half a brain realizes the union is not fighting for the middle class, they are fighting for their members and their dues. They attach themselves with these movements for exposure and numbers. Having said that, keeping the jobs in the US and on the coast will help everyone from the baker around the corner, Bill who has no affiliation with Verizon, but gets a bit of a break on his taxes by having a Verizon center in his town, and your child that may need a temporary job before beginning his or her career.

These big corporations don't pay people what they are worth, but instead the minimal amount possible. A lot of it comes from Wall Street demanding profits for shareholders. Is the ceo worth millions a year?

Ok. A lot of the wages for middle class are based off union pay scale. Likely if there is no union, everyone's pay and benefits will get worse. I don't love the union but it serves it's purpose.
