Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Lowell fails to realize what made wireless so great at startup was the amount of wireline employees who recommended it to friends and family.

Now you need to manipulate numbers to keep it great

njg That wins most ignorant comment of the day, and shows your lack or knowlege of even basic history. Verizon comes about as a joining of the Bell Atlantic & GTE telephone companies.

In regard to the union not building Verizon think back to the Bell System. That was before Verizon or wireless was around. The telecommunications of this country was built by Bell System Union and management employees.

Many don't like cable companies or wireless providers.

To the OP: Let's just say that your anecdote has some merit for a minute. That was years ago. Now your union buddies are recommending that they migrate from VZW and to T-Mobile or Sprint - very helpful indeed. BTW-Union people did not build Verizon, that statement is laughable. No one has positive impression of Verizon's field force and the Call Centers suck depending on where you get routed.

Who said I was a union member. All employees once had true pride in this company. Not any more

No they use it because of the reliablilty behind the brand name and its history and culture. But lowmac does not respect that culture or the privacy of its customers. He is just in it for the quick buck.

You think people use Verizon Wireless today because of a union worker recommendation? You guys probably take credit for Apple's success too.
