CWA & IBEW Strike in Support of the Survival of the American Worker and American Ideals

This strike is for everyone, the fact that Verizon is shipping jobs out of the country in the middle of our economic turmoil is a sin again our republic.

Customer service jobs, tech support jobs, payroll, a/p. tax. accounting....

The company seems dertmined to job all of the OSP technical work to jobbers and contracters.

Obscene. Very unAmerican.

if jobs are being off shored - how will it work? will lineman in mexico or phillipines be able to climb poles in Manhattan or Boston and fix the lines? for every 100 or so call center rep - i see 1000 or so truck riding techs and they claim to do miracles and fix poles and lines - and then complain their jobs are being offshored. How on earth can jobs like that ever go out of the same place the lines are. Can someone explain? or are we complaining of the few call center jobs even though 1000's of other lineman will have job here.

You're not the only representatives the customer sees. VZ has a salesforce of over 1200 people that sees customers daily. And the customers they see aren't consumers who pay $75-150 per month, they are companies that pay $5000 to $1 Million per month.

You prove the other poster's comment about being narcissists: You only can think about you and what you do on a daily business; you think you're the only people who see customers because you aren't interested in knowing what the rest of the people in the company do.

You do have the least important jobs in the country. You work for the most financially unstable part of the company and if you went away tomorrow and never came back the company would still make 90% of it's revenue (and would be MORE profitable).

i just love that the original poster recognized we are a Constitutional Republic. I would be shocked if you are union because all you hear from the left is that we are Democracy which is not what we are and actually dangerous and leads to dictatorships. So thank you for recognizing that. We in the union that earn the salary we do are in the 10% of earners so we really do not fit the victim-hood Communist institutions like the union portrays. It laughable actually but they need that to fit their narrative.

That's funny how you say we have the LEAST important job in the company.

We are the ONLY company representatives that the customer sees personally.

You obviously have NO IDEA what you are talking about.

No, the strike is for the narcissistic lazy asses that are in the union. Those union creeps only care about themselves and don't give a damn about anyone else.

All they do is bitch, complain, and whine about all their problems while doing the bare minimum necessary in their daily jobs. They think everyone should listen to them complain and everyone should feel sorry for them yet they couldn't care less about anyone else. They are selfish, lazy troublemakers that the rest of the company is constantly having to cover for.

The other 110,000 employees at Verizon are SO tired of listening to that entitled group of narcissists whine about EVERYTHING, especially when they get benefits that none of the rest of us get. They have the least important, least profitable jobs in the company but act as though their contributions are the equivalent of fighting the war in the MIddle East.

We have had it with them up to our eyeballs and can't wait for the day that they are gone forever. We are praying for the day that either Verizon sells them off to someone else or locks them out and throws away the key.
