Yeah, raid food banks of food allocated for the poor and needy because you decided to walk away from your jobs. BRAVO. Whats next? Grab a handful of cash from the collection plate Sunday morning?

So much effort goes into the anti-union right wing agenda on this board that it proves how much power the unions still do have.

I'm for the under dog. GO CWA!!!!

Has anyone actually been offended by the term scab since 1930? I find it hilarious that the union still uses this term. Although none of the union strike practices have evolved since 1930, hence why unions are dying so rapidly. Turns out if you villify everyone thats not a member of your union, then no one wants to be in your union. You can clearly see this represented by how quickly your membership rates have sunk over the past two decades in the private unions.

There's plenty of catered food in the offices and garages you just walked away from. Come back home to papa. Wanna eat? Work. That's how it's done.

@H2cXugH-xsx it is a shame that a company would encourage its employees into a race to the bottom of standards of living. It is a shame that the company would encourage cock fighting amoung its lower compensated employees, in a fight for long term survival. It is a shame that the company always likes to play bait-and-switch.

It's a shame that people are having to resort to food banks in order to feed their families. Really sorry you guys are having to do that. If you want, you can do the below to help out greatly.

http://www.nrtw.org/es/special-notice-verizon-employees-cwa

1) You have the right to resign your membership in the union. If you don’t support this union, you can send the union a letter resigning your membership.

2) You have the right to go to work even if the union bosses order a strike. Union officials can (and often do) levy onerous monetary fines against union members who work during a strike. So, you should seriously consider resigning your union membership BEFORE you return to work during a strike, which is the only way to avoid these ruinous union fines and discipline. See Union Discipline and Employee Rights. Your resignation letter must be postmarked THE DAY BEFORE you return to work, or hand delivered BEFORE you actually return to work.

3) You have the right to become a "Beck objector" and pay only reduced financial core fees instead of full membership dues. If you become a Beck objector, you will not be forced to pay for the CWA union’s far left political and social agenda.

4) You also have the right to revoke your dues check-off and stop allowing the union hierarchy to automatically collect money from your paycheck every week while no contract is in effect. You can send letters to the union and your employer revoking your authorization to have union dues deducted from your paycheck.

5) If you wish to eject an unaccountable union hierarchy from your workplace, you have the right to sign a decertification petition to obtain a secret ballot election to do so. See Decertification Election.

@H2cXugH-wad is another useless troll that does not understand how this business works. The people closest to the customers, ie the craft workers and the union workers, are the ones who actually do most of the operational work that allows YOU to work for a living. So now that WE are not working for a living, then you are clearly ripping off the shareholders by providing a less than efficient service because of your own mismanagement. NO SOUP FOR YOU!

That foodbank barely provides enough for anyone to live on. Their executives eat at nice restaurants and live in mansions while having the nerve to hand out generic canned goods and other CRAP under the guise of trying to help.

The foodbank's fat cat execs want to be patted on the back for helping people while they line their pockets with money and donations and give us food that isn't fit for a cat.

I'm not going to stand for it and will be out picketing this afternoon after I leave the company picket line. I deserve more than cheap canned excrement masquerading as "food"!

If I call my hall I get an answering machine. They never answer and have never returned a call to anyone from my garage.

I wish the CWA and IBEW would set up some local food banks for their striking workers. I know I would empty a lot of my shelves to help out. I was a manager that got bounced with the December 2015 lot. Like many of the other managers who post here, I support the unions in this battle. I read a couple of days ago someone posting that this was an existential fight for American ideals, and I along with many others agree with that. So I don't have much apart from my severance and unemployement, but I am willing to donate. I am sure many other managers and their families will too. Someone has to stand up to these guys or we are all screwed.
