So then sell it off already. The wireline on the rest of the planet makes a profit for it's owners. Seems Verizon is only interested in cool new trendy hip millennial fads. The failure here lies with the senior management.

The strike is happening in the part of the company with the least amount of revenue or profit. Wireline is a drag on the company financially whether there is a strike or not.

But to your point, this strike just underscores why Verizon needs to dump the wireline unit as quickly as possible. Even when everything is hunky dory in that business unit it drags on the business, so even in the best circumstances it brings little to the table and is mostly downside.

It's bad enough to have a failing business unit in the first place, but it's even worse when that business unit is a problem child that goes on strike every few years. There simply isn't any upside to the Wireline business.
