How ill informed you are. Verizon is self insured. Employees collect verizon pays out of pocket for unemployement.
That's why unions in NY are rarely broken. Thank you for paying your taxes because I'm getting a nice tan!
@H1NVS7D , Here is something to make you feel better, in a few weeks the money you and your employer pay into unemployment will go to you when you lose your job.

So you might have to go back if you can't handle it economically, but New York and New England are still where the heart and 'brains' (I use this term very loosely) are located. That is where the financial centers and commerce centers are.
So that 'unemployment' in NY is what can still fuel the stike as long as no one from the right to work states crosses against the grain in NY and New England. The union needs to keep all of those managers out there and away from all of their work in the belly of the beast.

I live in MD. Because MD is a right to work state, there is no unemployment.

This is not 2011. This stike is an existential fight for all of the company's non executive workers. The 99%. You get paid sh--, because the company can push you around, and you can't do sh-- about it. But according to the laws in America, we can. So if we lose, you lose more.
To make good $$$, you need to have a good IQ. Now we know why you don't make good $$$.
