401k bumpvup

EWAers - now is a good time, if you haven't already done so, Jack up your 401k contributions. Save some OT money from the tax man and get a little extra from the company.

Wow, you VZ Teamers really are getting screwed. CWA 401k plan allows for up to 25% contribution and $15,000 annually. You should see if maybe they'll agree to put you on for 7 x 15's so you could maybe do a little side investing. I'll even give you a good buy, Under Armour, UA.

@oix & enx, what total losers. Excited about the possibilities of losing their jobs. Time for a late night circle jerk after your 12 hour shift.

@enx Amen. I keep watching Rifs pass me by. If there are rifs after all of this crazy OT, sign me up for the 35 weeks of severance.

@yum Bring the RIF (one F), I've survived plenty of them, and if I am selected the 36 weeks of severance will get me thru the 3-4 weeks it takes to get a job- I already had an unsolicited job offer this week.

@odr, we're not complaining that we don't have enough, we're fighting to keep what we have. By the way I wouldn't recommend putting that extra money into your 401k because when you are RIFF'd in a couple months your going to need to have access to it.

,,,, And EWAers get yearly Short Term Incentives which is thousands of additional dollars.

Tell the whole truth.

That's great advice -- especially since EWAers don't get pensions like the union people do.

Funny how the union gets BOTH a 401k AND pension yet they are complaining it's not enough. Unbelievable.
