You know that neither the company nore the shareholders are liking the idea of paying this kind of money , for a fraction of the service provided by the craft and union workers. But I think it is great for everyone who is a pawn in this game. The managers get some well needed immediate cash. The unions get to crush the balls of the senior managers their power and office, as well as make their own presence conspicuously absent and missed, despite being a pain in the ass Because also obivous to the public, customers and investors, is the deteriorating and bordering on incompetent customer service levels. And this will lead to a fair contract.

Till then its like party for everybody: FOOD FIGHT!!!

Very cathartic.

Double time is paid to all non-exempt management over 51 hours (time and a half over 40 through 51). Eligible exempts get time and a half over 40, no double time.

Yes. Pretty much.

Still. If you are a manager getting paid $125K a year, that's still a nice piece of change.

Some EWAers considered have higher salary than the others only have time and half not double time.

@jjv I'll take the RIF as well- 18 years with the company, I'm maxed out at 36 weeks severance. Beating that drum just doesn't scare those of us that aren't afraid. I'm sure you'll try to say they'll cut the severance- but just more scare tactics... I didn't choose to work for this company (I'm fMCI), and while I'm ready to move on, it's hard to just walk away from 36 weeks of severance pay and the people I've been working with for almost 2 decades. Corporate doesn't make me loyal to them, it's the people that do.

Actually, it's double time past 49 hours presuming that current non-union workforce is paid along the same lines as the unionized folks are when not on strike...

Who the heck is getting double time? You might want to check your paycheck. It is time and a half past 40 hours.

@H0l5wz6-xhj You guys have nothing to say? All I heard is saving your OT paycheck and you will be RIFed. Every EWAer knows the incoming RIFs. IT IS NOT A NEWS! Unbelievable!

Save your "double-time" money so you can add it to your severance payout WHEN not IF you are RIF"d THIS Year after returning from EWA.

Local Management working are not Scabs. People being hired to do craft work off the streets or contractors are Scabs. Im manangement and I have turned down them when they wanted me to take one. Although last strike I was attacked by four strikers at night I hope this time is different. I do not like this but have to be here.

Feels pretty good to get double time, if you fight for something maybe you can keep it.

Make the most of it -- that's great money! I know it's hard work, but it sounds like lots of people are being hired to come in and replace the union people in a few weeks when the lockout starts.

Hopefully you can keep it going a few more weeks! Keep your chin up because it will be here before you know it.

Hey, that's fine. Enjoy all of the above while you can. Seriously.

When they get a few more kids straight out of the military to replace you at half pay which we've seen a lot of lately, at least you'll have something to live on while being unemployed.
