It will get split up and sold off in pieces.....Data Center Cloud ops going to auction....VES to CenturyLink or Altice.....FiOS / HSI / Wireline to Ftr and Ftr will be VZ's LEC and Ftr will lease back Data Center and CO space to VZ.

I'd still bet on Frontier...if you look at ILEC footprints across USA, they are the only ones for whom such a move would make sense geographically.

While they might not be as well-off as AT&T or VZ, they still came up with $10.5B for CA,FL and TX...so yes, I would not count them out in the least.

I don't know enough about Windstream's operations, but I doubt that they would be in running for any of these territories apart from possibly VZ's part of PA...and I highly doubt that VZ would sell that region on its own, but I've got no inside knowledge to offer on the matter at hand.

who would buy VZ wireline?

Can't be a foreign company (Fed stuff).

Can't be Frontier (too much money)

Can't be Centurylink (too much money)

AT&T is more interested in wireless.

What do you all think?

No trolling, just good opinions

Please sells us to someone and then we can charge you full price for those cell tower circuits. Also you will no longer be able to dump all of your advertising, legal, and other bills on the wireline side. We're going to laugh as VZ Wireless' profits drop faster than an elephants nuts in 100 degree heat! Do it Lowell, we're waiting for your next mistake.

Yes, when that debt is largely due to obtaining 100% ownership in the largest wireless network in the world.

I can see that the union folks aren't accountants if they don't understand that there are different types of debt.

Verizon has to reinvent itself if it wants to stay in business. Companies that don't stay current go away (see Kodak, Blockbuster, etc).

The union people want Verizon to be another Blockbuster stuck in the 80's. Thankfully VZ's excellent leadership knows and understands that the company can't become a dinosaur and survive long term.
