Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Without the CWA this job is not worth having.

The decent pay and great benefits were negotiated by CWA, not given to us by Lowell Mcadam.

Look at how they have treated us in the last year WITH a union, just imagine what it would be like to work for them without Union representation!

The work atmosphere is toxic beyond belief.

Send me all the letters you want Verizon, I would not work for you without the CWA

Furthermore

If you knew anything about the history of this country, you would know the contribution of unions to the working class.

So how about this...

If YOU don't like living in a country where workers can stand up for themselves, why don't YOU go move to some 3rd world country where the corporations exploit the people all day long?

Sounds like a good place for the likes of you.

How about if YOU don't like working for a company that has a UNION, then YOU quit? Go be a management suckup at some non-union company.

If you don't like your job then quit and go get a job somewhere else. Why are you people whining about it?

If you're not trusted to eat lunch, then go find a job at a company that doesn't treat you that way. Sitting around and complaining about it doesn't help anything, and the company has the right to run their business the way they deem fit. You work for them, not the other way around.

In this country we are allowed the freedom to quit our job if we don't like the way we are treated. Either accept it or go find a job that better suits you.

It is really a disgrace what Lowell has wreaked on this company. It would be interesting to hear what Ivan's thoughts are on all of this.

If Verizon wins I will not be returning to work for them. They've caused me enough pain. Time to move on.

From what I've seen posted here and heard from current/past employees on both sides (union/non-union), it doesn't seem like Verizon has any jobs that are worth keeping. The execs treat both sides like dirt why they line their pockets with cash.

The BOD must be in on it too as they allow it to happen. Maybe Lowell will end up as a cell-mate with Bernie Ebbers someday soon

I think that this may be the first pro union post that makes sense. The OP clearly states his position and acknowledges that it is his decision whether or not to continue working at Verizon in this new non union environment. Best of luck to you OP.

It would be Comcast, customers already hate us in the same way.

I used to be trusted to work nights in a urban area and take care of important business customers while all the managers were home in bed.

Now I am not trusted to eat lunch.

Respect is a two way street Verizon.
