This is all about weak earnings, and weaker earnings going forward.

It's a win/win for Verizon. They have neglected the infrastructure for years forcing customers to leave and that's just what they wanted. Now they can blame it on the big bad union

Inside job! Just ask any customer with copper dial tone and/or hsi who has not had any problems for 15-20 years, even through storms such as Sandy. All it took for them was 15 - 30 days after fios was up and running in their building to be told fiber is their only option. Verizon's Mr Mason should investigate and reward that BS with the help of the psc, the fact and the dept. of justice

To those that keep saying we are going to be locked out, if you have inside information tell them to PLEASE lock us out! We aren't going back to work anyway, at least then we can collect unemployment and the living in limbo ends.

I hope this is not true. All it takes is just one Union person to be caught, and it will cast the rest of us as the bad guys in this fight.

False Flag operation by Verizon.

No way the union could have done this, even if they wanted to with all the surveillance out there. You can't go running around causing massive outages in this day and age and not get caught. Use your heads people! Besides Homeland Security, there is Vz corporate security out there, all the scabs with their snitch app, and just regular civilians with smartphones. There are just tons of cameras out there in general.

And the Union wouldn't want to anyway. They want to win the P.R. war, not lose it. They are winning the PR war in NY already.

No, if this actually happened, the only ones who could have done it would be current employees of Verizon. This is an obvious False Flag.

DEFINITE inside job!

Either covering up for a REALLY bad week in the public eye, the day before earnings

Or EWA incompetence.

No one else benefits from this but the company

It's the work of the replacement workers, they are not trained and are screwing up everything, the company is putting its spin as to not bring attention to their strike workforce.

Its not a real news story anyway. They just print whatever Verizon tells them.

Landline business is unprofitable for Verizon doesn't mean the landline is gone. Obviously, some scumbags want to draw public attention back on landline. Now I know what's the meaning of "Release the squirrels"

Same story as last strike except they forgot to include pictures of a clean cut 900ct copper because it looked too proffesional. And they got cheap. It used to be 50k reward

Its like 99% baloney.

Like I said, maybe like 1 or 2 idiots try do something like that. Whatever damage they might do would barely be noticed. The rest is all just made up by the company to try and make themselves look competent.

You think someone could go around committing massive sabotage and not get caught? In this day and age? No way. Please. I know you guys spend all day in an office but use your heads!

No.

It is all made up by the company, they say that every time there is a strike, but you never hear about anyone getting arrested for this. Why? Because for the most part it does not happen. You know what you never hear from the company during a strike? What you never will hear? "We messed up" they will never say that during a strike and everyone with half a brain knows this.

Guys please. This is all a fake story from The Onion. Landlines cut? Oh that's rich. Lowell you prankster! Next you will be telling us about a stagecoach robbery!

by

Post ID: @1jta+H07JKi8

Except the landlines were connected by copper that were probably installed over a decade ago and were operating with little necessary maintenance until they were cut by an act of malintent.

Sorry. This sabotage sounds too tailor made. Smells like a non-union inside job. The day before earnings. Days after Lowell makes and a$$ out of himself in public. A week after the company gets caught with its pants down. I would not be surprised if some management troll did this.

Typical union thugs. They know their jobs are hanging by a thread. They know VZ could care less about the FUTURE of wireline. That the only work needed going forward is R&M. So in their devious desperation, they do the only thing they can to bring attention to their plight. Criminal acts to try and show the world that their services are needed. They just put a nail in their own coffin: a double whammy: Contractors already on the clock, and an additional reason for VZ to do nothing at the table, except watch the union crumble away as a result of their own doing. Verizon doesn't need the union one bit.

"thousands cut off from critical services"? on LANDLINES? WTF are you talking about Verizon? This is not the age of princess phones and rotary dialing you know.

Not to mention landlines are COMPLETELY USELESS unless you want to send a telegraph over a rotary phone line. Every company man and Verizon manager knows that.

It doesn't help the Union; it is more likely a False Flag operation by Verizon. There is already a thread on this.
