Union bosses made out as they always do. They intend to let the grunts bleed for two or three more weeks to make the sh!tty contact they signed feel worthwhile.

@H03DWtL-1pvr Nope! Keep your job, keeping mine warm. Both of our family's need to eat! Just don't be a hero unless emergency requires it. The backup will build naturally and this will soon come to an end.

So you want them to quit their job? They were told they had to go. What would you say to my three little girls who cry every night wondering when their daddy will be home? Oh, that's right, he should have quit his job instead of following orders to protect your job. Riiiiiiight.

@H03DWtL-1biv thanks man! I was always wondering what was up with that "EWA". It seemed like one of those LowMac's Underwear Guy or more Marni Millennial Madness. It sounded so stupid, so I made it a point to ALWAYS refer to it for what it was and is: "Strike Duty". Figures that there is some legal outmaneuvering scam involved with this.
Verizon has devolved into "The Firm". It is like an Orwellian novel in BR, complete with a 'Credo' whose meaning is the complete opposite of what is says.
One of the best sick laughs is that there were some really cool photos of OSP Union People taking care of business during the storms that raged through the northeast a couple of years ago. They had them by the cafeteria. It made me proud to be a part of all of that with the rest of Verizon. It made me remember what it must have been like for some of those guys climbing poles and sinking holes for new poles to replace the ones ripped out in the storm.
And now everyone forgets all of that. Now the Union guys are 'The Enemy'. The Bad Guys! The Thugs looking to take more than their fair share. Funny how all of the pictures have been down for more than a year. Those ones with the captions about how "Verizon employees RUN towards troubles, not away!"
That's why these people get paid what they do. Because they also do all of your EWA BS not just when it is sunny and warm, but when not even the cops want to be outside. When there is no one else out there doing the do, but our union folks, and the power company's unio folks.
This manager stands with the union. Unless there is an emergency: no access, can't remember what the little red wire is for, or was is OSP or POS? Can't remember. Let me park the truck under the tree and puzzle upon this...

The EWA people doing 12 hrs/6 days are making a mountain of money, so as inconvenient as strike duty may be I imagine most all of them will be very happy campers when they get the next paycheck or two.
So Verizon isn't in a big hurry to settle (they have all the leverage and wireline revenue means nothing to the overall company), the EWAs aren't in a big hurry to settle (they've more than doubled their pay for a few weeks), and the non-EWAs carrying the workload aren't in a big hurry to settle (they are also getting overtime pay while the strike is on). The only people who really care are the union strikers, and they have zero leverage.
So unless the union gives in, this strike will go on until the 3rd week in May when the lockout happens. By that time the company will have hired enough new employees to cover for the union people who are locked out, and probably half of those union people will come back to work.
That was me...Been living this corporate nightmare since '91. Im not union but from a union family. Would never cross a line out of deep respect. This action would take more than just the union. The cubeschlubs need to stand up for themselves and say no, anyway they can, in order to break this cycle. 12hrs/6 days to keep the execs pockets lined..its wrong. And its not an emergency work assignment either. Its Strike duty. The coined the term EWA to evade labor laws and give the illusion its for regulatory and safety i.e.911. Fios installs is not an emergency. I see you guys at BR...you have my respect..all of you!

They are busy being distracted and diverted by the two Communist running for the party they give 51% of their dues to.

No its hasn't. V has all the leverage. Look at it this way They cut 39K salaries and are getting the work done on effectively 15-20K salaries. Whats the rush for them?. And as far as the schitbird work being done, its good enough to get by.
The farts in the wind running the company just need to draw their exorbitant salaries another 18-24 months before they move on to the pharma and automotive sectors. Im sure they were preparing those moves since last year. They all talk, they all protect each other and their families from college through to the golden parachute bailouts.
