Has anyone heard more about closing Wireless Retail stores this year and shifting to more on-line service? Also hear Indirect will go through major changes too??

This is suppose to hit around second half year. The unsuccessful run of hum didn't sit well for wireless. Still being hit hard by TMobile and we had to resort to paying customers to come to us. It's a loosing battle at this point. When does it make any spence to pay people to come with your network up to $650? At some point something is going to give and it won't be shareholders profits.

C level stores closing. More express options being pushed for online pick ups. More positions being eliminated even in the stores which is a first.
I think the district managers in retail needs to go. The last time we saw ours in the retail location was before Christmas. I see no purpose in this job.

Agree that call centers will be closed, also, retail store employees make more money than those at call centers, so I doubt many would take a big pay cut :(
Call centers? You must be joking. There is no increased demmand for call centers. If fact, I think more call centers will be closed and consolidated.
The internet is making call centers obsolete just like it is making brick and mortar retail obsolete.
Close wt1..but I really think the retail associates will be retrained to staff the call centers after the hb1 scam is is killed once and for all. Verizon won't be able to cloak the misuse by claiming diversity any longer.
If you are a tenured retail employee, getting laid off.may be worth it instead of quitting due to the generous severance package. Unless of course, the severance changes.

I keep hearing rumors that 25% of all direct retail locations are to close since the growth days are over and stores, along with their employees, are expensive to keep around. However, this was supposed to happen already and it hasn't. So I am not sure if the rumors are true anymore.
Wireless is dead. The market is saturated and profits are too low. Wireline is dead too per all the wireless people.
So Verizon has decided to go into the migrant farm worker business once Trump kicks out all the illegals. All Verizon employees will be instructed to turn in their laptops and pickup their sombreros, long-sleeved flannel shirts and camelback. You can start picking strawberries in the north 40.
