Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon roll over my employee phone plan to regular customer plan after I got laid off now they won't let me get out of the contract

My impression was once Verizon lay me off they will give me option to keep the Verizon as my carrier or move to other carrier but than I find out they roll over me to regular customer account under the same contract now they are asking me pay cancellation fee.

How can I get out of the contract now since I am treated as a regular customer? HELP ne

Roll out of the contact to T-Mobile and let them pay your Verizon Early Termination Fee. Celebrate 6GB a month on every line, and forget ever paying a data overage again. Talk and text unlimited with no extra charges.

Check your bill when you leave. Verizon will try to overcharge you, not credit you, and bully you. Makes you wonder why you ever worked for them.

Just check Sprint, no matter what plan you have with Verizon they will cut in half also pay for your contract up to $650.... .Verizon and Sprint are the only two carriers uses CDMA...so your unlocked Verizon phone will work just fine with Sprint network.....

F*uck Verizon

F*uck Verizon

F*uck Verizon

I laugh as I got all my friend and family to use competitors for all home, business and wireless service.

F*uck Verizon

All verizon does is f*uck over their employees, even after they leave the company verizon wants to tell you what to do.

F*uck Verizon.

Most people I work with here use either AT&T T-Mobile or Sprint. Customers and acquaintances laugh their asses of when they know we work at verizon and tell them we use a competitor. Laugh they do, and they get some insight as to how we are treated here.

So again, F*UCK VERIZON.....

Have Great Day!

@JLY "You have enjoyed the benefit of discounted employee pricing," ENJOYED????? are you serious? I know Police officers and Firemen and Postal workers that ENJOY the Verizon employee discount. And I have news for you $270 dollars a month for 4 phones, 10 gigs WITH DISCOUNT is not ENJOYABLE. When I have friends with T-Moble and Sprint that pay half of that, and their NOT employees of those companies. So you tell me how JOYFUL I should be. This employee was fired by Verizon so his/her job and career could be sent oversea's for pure Greed by a company earning Billions in profit. If I'm a POS for having a human heart for this employee"s life and family, and caring about a fellow Co-worker who's life has been yanked out from under them. Then what are you?

Wow people on this forum are a bunch of fuk tards with their vulgar comments for a poor former employee who was let go and does not want to pay an ETF. You are all a bunch of a--holes.

OP, you can get the ETF waived if you call employee customer service.

Hmmmm why not "scam" yourself out of contract with a company that just screwed you moron. Hit them where it hurts bottom line. You switch T-Mobile and Verizon still gets paid. But hey play nice with a company that just dumped you after all your years of hard work. Because the company plays "fair" and doesn't scam the system to avoid paying taxes.

Get a clue and start playing there games or be another casualty on the company.

Your documents clearly stated you had 30 days to get out. It's the same policy they use for all separations not just RIF's after 30 days your locked in unfortunately. I didn't waste time and moved a week after I was out. I lost a few bucks because they never refunded the prorate when I canceled but I consider that water under the bridge. Took my paid for phones to straight talk (both are global phones) and actually am paying 20 bucks a month under VZ employed plan

Hey kgl, this is what most people would think, if the OP made the news stations.... "You have enjoyed the benefit of discounted employee pricing, for how long? So now that you have rolled over to a more normalized rate, you have the balls to B&M, and try and scam out of your contract agreement? you're a real POS, aren't you?"

Your paperwork stated clearly that if you called within 30 days of separation they would move you to a consumer plan and waive any ETF. if you call the media, shred that. If they see it they might think you are just an idiot.

News Media is worst they won't published any story against their own sponsors, Can't go to court because Verizon did not make it mandatory for you to obtain service from them while you worked for Verizon.

You had 30 days to cancel with no ETF. What I found confusing is when that 30 days started... does it start on the day of notification of RIF, or is it 30 days after separation? I didn't waste any time and moved mine over to T-mobile after my notification.

You just call and tell them the account owner died. They will cancel all lines no eft fee. They can't ask for dead certificate.

Of you can say you are being shipped off to Afghanistan for duty. Won't be back in 2 years. They will cancel with no fee.

Only downside is you loose your numbers but her better than those $350 fees

Go to small claims court. Tell the judge that you were mandated to use them while you worked there. And no you don't work there. I would also send letters to your state's Secretary of State.

Call your local news stations, all of them.....Give them your entire story...You have it all ! ...They love the large brand name companies screwing the little guy, number one. Number two. They will love the story, that they let you, an American worker go, to ship your job over sea's, or, it was giving to a foreign worker. In an Election year. Very Un-American of Verizon, And to add insult to injury this USA top 15 Fortune 500 Company has the audacity to inflict their will over the employee that they put on the street out of pure greed AND RAISE THEIR BILL ! Show them your bills, Show them your unemployment stubs, and cry for the camera, that you just hate having other American's supporting you, when Verizon is making Billions in profits, and the CEO is making tens of Millions in personal salary. and your job was sent oversea's. Tell them it's just not fair to the American public. SHAME ON VERIZON!
