The promo price issue is all IT. And by reading this board you should know the state of IT. Some recent grad thousands of miles away working for 10.00/hour will look at it when he gets a chance.

Yeah well maybe the GM team can figure out how to get the stupid promo sales to work right. That's been a mess for a long time and it gets shrugged off when prices are wrong at register or on eFollett. They don't have to deal with pi$$ed off customers when something doesn't ring onsale so please get your act together and be better about pricing. Why is everything wrong?

The GM team worked their butts off before. I can't imaging the challenge of getting this done with fewer resources. Kudo's to them, overall GM sales are up again.

HEY, HEY!! More alta vista cheap, ugly t's just came in. We still have an over abundance of the last shipment. That's ok because they agreed to pay living wage to those textile workers but not the Follett associates. GO FOLLETT another great decision!! See those t's on the clearance rack soon, or better yet maybe the CEO's will wear them on the golf course!

My current job takes me to a handlful of campuses throughout the year and I always make it a point to visit the campus stores.

As far as selection (Best to worst): Institution > B&N > Off Campus > Follett.

As far as price (lowest to highest): Off campus B&N > Off Campus > Follett.

Most generic selection, least amount of staff and highest prices. Good luck.

Everything is the same because the GM team no longer has the time to spend personalizing the assortment for each store. Less planners, more store count per planner.. No more phone calls, too any emails from stores to read or answer. It's easier to make everything genetic - less time to make selections, vendors can process the same items faster. While the buyers try to keep up with trends, the days of customizing by store are long gone unless you are ND.

If you look at any of the store websites, you will see that everyone has the same selection. Everything is generic. Same styles, same lettering, only different schools names. There is nothing classy, nothing exceptional. To boot, the prices are outrageous. We used to be able to offer styles and quality that students, parents and alumni wanted. What is going on with the buyers? Oh, that's right... We are now KMart or Target. We have lost many sales because we do not carry what the customer wants ! Forget about your cheap T shirts.
