I have no idea how this will work. I took a lot of these courses in Capabilities Evolution and they are fairly useless. The only ones that half way decent come from skillport and udacity. For the most part they are too high level.

So is this training available to non-management? From what I've seen it's only available to managers. My manager can't find info and nobody in our organization have an answer. I asked our Union President last night and he doesn't know either.
Why would anyone with a degree from Georgia Tech want to work for AT&T. AT&The did manage to put their business on a cloud by the 3rd grade kid next door can run a business from the cloud also. Sure AT&T is a big company bit there a tons of better companies to work for that take much better care of their employees
The previous comment demostrates the disconnect between HR and who is actually making the Surplus decisions, from the SME standpoint i believe that the training programs don't mean the end of layoffs. AT&T has issued layoff warning notices in California to 513 employees since September, according to State of California Employment Development Department. It’s not clear if these layoffs were directly related to the transition to new technology, but one thing is sure, in San Ramon ATO Area Managers decided who will be affected, and many of them don't even have a college degree... very sad
I have a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, a Master's in Comp Sci, and all kinds of Microsoft certifications. All this actual education and knowledge wasn't wanted by the company. Why would I get Udacity nanodegrees or a second Masters when I can write all those classes myself?
Received interesting email stating that there will be an upgrade to Capabilitiee Evolution and that hiring managers will have easier way to check on those employees who posses the right pivot skills, completed Nona degrees, completed Georgia Tech degree, completed 50% or more of CE trainig. Let's see if any hiring manager will contact me since I completed majority of all the training. I am not holding my breath though

I agree, the "training" is barely better than useless. 41 years of experience will be totally worthless in software defined network. I'm glad I was able to retire last year.
The company went public in saying they are providing and expecting their employees to take the training courses just so that they can say training was provided to employees to prepare them for the future. As useless and irrelevant as these courses may seem, the company will be monitoring who has been proactively logging in to Skillport, Udacity, Capabilities Evolution, LSO, etc. and completing the training. They will be using this to determine who is serious about sticking around for 2020 and beyond.
Forget AT&T's useless nanodegreees, and challenge yourselves,Cisco CCNA, CCNP to start, after acquiring those industry certifications , you will have a new perspective in technology, something you will need when you get your call

I have taken about 25 of the courses and I don't find them useful at all. They say we may be writing code and the only video that might have been slightly helpful was a video on IP address's. But it just gave a general idea of how IP address's are assigned. I will have 30 years and will be 62 in 2021 so I expect to retire. I still have quite a bit of videos to watch so maybe they will be more useful. I see them laying a good % of people off and shipping jobs to India for writing code and things. I don't know anyone who thinks they are helpful. I guess there is only so much you can do with watching videos.
I agree. Most of the courses have very limited usefulness.
