@2row, cool story, Bro! CWA is still getting paid every week while you anti union consultant shills try to stir stuff up. Tell Lowell good luck selling the wireline to anybody before putting a 5 year labor contract in place!

Non union vz....... can be fired at any time for any reason...... can be transferred anywhere..... the list goes on and on....
gek! ROFLMAO. Try harder to be less self centered. Your whole blog permeates with me, me, me. Really bad, amusing, but really bad. Incredible just how emotionally self absorbed you are. Worse! Something tells me you will be completely bewildered by these comments as they zoom straight past your synapses.
I hope @iob doesn't show up tomorrow. We don't need loser like him/her around. Get lost loser.
@iob
That post is a new low, even for this site. Having a mentally challenged child I would give anything to know who you are. This site has really made a turned nasty.
"You Shod"? Another inside do nothing but hide and pretend to work. Pretend to look busy, and try to fool your friends and family that you have an important job at Verizon. A Company that Union hands built not you. You wont be missed at all if you don't show up tomorrow.
You shod talk @duu. You can't even spell course. Another union retard...
"not it is about union crying like a 3 year old." ?? One more time please, I want to try and at least comprehend your post, that is of coarse NOT written by a 3 year old.
1pk you still fail to see many employee are affected management and union. What is your agenda? Maybe you should see a someone about your issues. Were you abused / or being abused now? Maybe yo have mommy or daddy issues : (
I see the union cry babies are at it again.
This board used be about layoffs, not it is about union crying like a 3 year old.
Commenter crq is a poor excuse for a human being. My spouse was laid off last year and the dept is now full of visa workers. I'm with the union on this one and only wish my husband had representation. Crq does not care about anything other than his own bank account or he would not take so much joy in givebacks that workers are being asked to take. Rest assured that where you're ultimately going, your money isn't going to help you .
Sounds more like the future without a middle class.
Seems to me some on here comment on management and union crying. The only people who are not are the ones commenting who own vz stock on here and don't work for vz.
Exactly! @srq
O/P An analogy to help you, the Union tech, visualize your new vz future.
In 1970 Yellowstone national park stopped feeding the bears on human garbage, left each day by park visitors. Without free handouts the Bears went hungry and then began to starve. The Bears were completely dependent on humans and their trash.
At first squabbles between bears broke out, but as the Bears hunger increased savage fights became more and more common. As nature intended, the Bears were forced to return to foraging, hunting, eating carrion with fights to the death amongst themselves for any road kill, no matter how small. Today the bear population is fit & healthy with the weak having been killed off or died of hunger.
This is the same future the current Union techs will face at vz. Babied for decades with high pay and outstanding benefits, Union techs, long ago, began to believe, like the Bears, they had a right to "the good life."
In the future the union will be gone. Techs will, like the Bears, at first, squabble over who gets the job 100 miles away, glad to take anything vz throws their way. But! As time goes on only those willing and able to compete successfully against contractors will survive and grow. Becoming sleak, lean and killingly fit, like the Bears, these techs will be powehouses of skill knowledge and flexibility, super techs. A far, far cry, from today's Union techs and the Bears of yesteryear.
Management, the true bottom of the foodchain at big red. Unprotected, overpaid, and mis-classified. A better term would be "monitor". Say whatever you want about the Union, but the manual labor that it takes to build, maintain, and install a network is "the work". When these people show up at a centralized location to start their day, I guess SOMEONE has to be there to make sure they leave the garage. Otherwise, I dont really see the point.
Can we, as management, have compassion for the Union people? Yes we mgmt people know they are children of a lesser God. Challenged, they seek reality, alas they live inside The Matrix having swallowed the union's blue pill.
Remember! One day, us mgmt people, will stand before our assigned case worker/God who will ask one simple question.
"How, during your time, did you self-sacrifice, taking nothing for yourself, instead giving your time, energy, efforts, including your life, to help those of any species, not just your own, to lead more productive useful lives?
We will be golden as each of us mgmt point toward the huddled group of Union people waiting to board "that" DOWN escalator, and simply say.
"We gave our all to help them escape The Matrix, alas the union's blue pill took them from us."
The gates to The Kingdom of Heaven will swing open and the glorious sound of The Angels singing will ring out as we proudly march forth, noting out the corner of our eye, the blue pill takers.........descending.
Lowell is the baby.
Little man needs to bend over and get ready to have his sh-- pushed in.
Little old man with a small dick.
@uej - perfect union baby example. Terrible working conditions wahhh! Management going to lose their jobs wahhh!
Keep crying about it baby.
@uej - Please elaborate... what terrible working conditions?
kvr, There is none so blind as they who will not see. Your blind to the fact that even management are worried about losing their jobs and the terrible working conditions. So to put it in your words we must all be crybabies. I see you were born with something other then a silver spoon in your mouth, it must have been put in your ss your talking a lot of s*t
No they don't need to hire better anti union shill. Lowell and team are doing just fine suppressing the unions. You know behind closed doors leadership is like "whatever" and then in public they are like "we are working on it".
All you union cry babies just whine on here about how the union doesn't do anything for you and we need to strike, we need to walk out. Blah blah blah and on and on and on.
Here is some advice: take a $hit or get off the crapper. Obviously the unions are powerless and they just take your money. Time to take matters into your own hands. Stop waiting for someone else to do it for you.
amen "BROTHERS & SISTERS".......
Looks like someone struck a nerve. What's wrong baby? Did something scare you? Do you need a union steward to tuck you in?
You can't stand what is being said is true can you. Look at the facts.

The cwa has not done a fair job of communicating anything.
-
They have told everyone to WORK the overtime and save (which is what people don't want to do, forced overtime)
-
Only have made threats saying something is coming for the last 8 months
-
By the looks of it, spent MONEY MONEY MONEY for a candidate. Time and effort to call voters when we should be taking this message home about the contract.
-
Placed useless adverstiment telling the average American that CEO's make more money than God. All stuff everyone knows and has no control over.
-
Ignored your people. Why vote for something just to be placed on the back burner for your own best interest.
Hate to say this but the truth hurts. It's time to start looking at the facts and stop arguing that you can be replaced. Look at the big picture, what is cwa doing for me? They wouldn't be anything without its members.
I gaurentee you if you place pressure on them they will move forward with action. What has the last 8 months of asking your manager for a contract done?
