Face it, people! Enbridge is laying off the experienced & loyal people with young, inexperienced people. This also includes management positions. It's downright stupid to put inexperienced people in management jobs like Enbridge does especially in sour gas facilities. The days of retirement are over. You can bet your bottom dollar the older management people are still filtering themselves to keep their jobs.

To those who say they survived...you should survived nothing the trigger was never pulled and it will still come, they just have align it with media input...keep walking on egg shells because that is their intention to make us all scared.
Enbridge was my dream job. I worked extremely hard to the point that that I was running. Dreams are just dreams. So glad I'm out of there. Certainly not the culture of value in people that it was. Miss you Pat!
Well, this had to come. It was inevitable. There are a lot of people involved in planning and building pipelines, and even more people supporting those people. Problem is, we won't be doing that a lot. Add in that costs are out of control, and yeah... The time has come. And more cuts will undoubtedly follow. The company is changing fast. The days of the Enbridge Lifer are coming to a close.
I survived this round. I'm glad - I like my job, and the people I work with. To the guy who says he does nothing, I'm surprised you can say that with pride. I would feel worthless. And to whomever said the company deserves to get destroyed from the inside, I just don't understand you at all.

As long as CD and MC are at Enbridge no one in IT should assume they have a job the following day. It is sad how far this organization has fallen.

Lower and middle management are riding a high horse who treat their employees like a second class citizen
Enbridge structure:
Lower and middle management are nice but dumb as mud, no idea what their employees do for work or how to manage, end up hurting more than helping
Upper management are psycho, pure bad, no conscience
One of my coworker reported harassment , mismanagement and wastage to the upper mgmt last year. They instead asked my coworker to quit to coverup the whole thing. Dishonesty is rampant in Houston office.
Best part of working in Enbridge is I don't do anything take two hour lunch and two hour break then chat the rest of the time on communicator super chill and you don't have to feel bad about working for douches when you don't really work

The company deserves to be destroyed from the inside.
The info ive gotten from my management was that the reductions are mainly related to the delays on the sandpiper and L3 projects. No idea if there's more cuts coming, but nothing happened today.

As soon as the price of oil recovers, I'm ghost. I understand that layoffs need to happen, but at least in the Houston office, there's zero shreds of honesty about anything.

Salesmen/vendors seemed to know more about enbridge than enbridge does. Go figure.
I got laid off Feb. 1st. They kept us hanging for 3 yrs & no info the whole time. It was mentally tough to go about my job & life knowing it could be coming. I was afraid to make any major purchases. I hate being laid off but at the same time the wait was over with. Good luck to you all & hang in there!
Life is tough right now for everyone, especially in the energy sector which ripples down. This economy sucks. Sad this is happening at Enbridge, but glad it wasn't to the extent the rumor indicated. Hoping for better days to come for all of us. Let's try to stay positive and support our fellow humans. Everyone is struggling without such fear mongering, finger pointing and negativity.
The message that was conveyed to us through our senior managers from our VP, was that the reorganization will be mainly in MP, and that there will be an email anouncement that will be sent out end of yeaterday, so when I see that nothing happened and nothing anounced, I have this feeling that even on the senior managers and VP level, no one knows what's the plan is !!!!
Still no "workplace reductions, we're so sad" bullshit email. Moral is totally destroyed; the higher ups need to address this soon.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow; very sorry to those already affected. Let's hope they're already done. I understand "business," but what a gross way to conduct layoffs (and increase profits).
I was told that in IT it is 4 employees and 4 contractors laid off today.
Well at least one more day of pay yay!

Yes, they were allowed to stay til Friday for a "transition" period.
I heard a few people are allowed to work until Friday. Kind of strange.

17 people all SCM in MP... This is way less than the rumoured 1000, they didn't even use the meetings rooms booked by HR... Any other updates?
