People claim they have knowledge that Verizon is going to sell the east wireline. Good luck with that. First, What company is going to buy the wireline with a labor dispute in progress? If I was a potential buyer I'd want a 5 year labor contract in place to even consider it. Next, if you read the comments here (or just speak with other employees every day) it's evident that both the union employee and the lower level management employee is rightfully pissed at the direction/tactics of the company. What company wants to buy another company where every manger and craft person is angry/distrustful. Board of Directors, are you listening to the voice of the people at all, or do you just sit there counting money? Seriously, name me names of companies that you think would buy this toxic place.

I do not see CenturyLink, non Frontier buying anymore significant assets at this time.
Altice, could not VES for the Gov't contrats.
I just do not see anyone who would want Wireline and VES having the ability to buy it.
Also, there is a crap load of unfunded retirement benefits in Wireline.
Centurylink... All they have is wireline and customer service5wise their mot bad... Glad to ve gone from VZW... They can kerp their wireless service, overall Sprint with 40gb at high an unlimited data is great for the price... Powers that be eanted to just have the network as a service for other players to reduce costs in Wireless.. Bet their heading that way, right into the abyss..

"Sweepng Changes in 2016" hmmmm.... Someone's mouth wrote checks that cannot be cashed. Now someone is stuck with the wireline and a "successorship agreement" written into a labor agreement. Someone knows a federal mediator will see this clearly. I bet someone is about to step down as CEO as the heat gets turned up on him in 2016. Don't jump the gun union folks. Someone's nuts are in a bind. Stay tuned!!
There is no one who wants any of those east coast assets. The company in its infantile wisdom has already sold off all of the profitable lines, leaving the company with the chaff. Oh well.
I remember there was this big analyst on one of the financial cable channels last year and he was stating it like a dead certain fact that Altice was about to buy the Verizon wireline business in NY. About a week later Altice announced it's intention to buy Cablevision's NY assets, not Verizon's. These people are paid god knows how much money and are about as accurate as a coin flip.
Frontier maybe? They bought California, texas and flordia. I heard they were getting ready to buy assets from AT&T too, the other clueless, wannabe "technology" company...
