I have been with Verizon for about 20 years as a senior manager.

The sad part is now every one is acting busy. The work that does not make sense. The people and their supervisors are all playing a ritual.

Everyone knows that they are digging a black hole for new revenue. The most funny thing was when an IT CIO RV said that some of the projects were in Red because she could not complete hiring enough staff in time. Just keep acting as if everything is normal.

Get your package when your time comes. Be contended. This management is trying to put rocket fuel into a steam based locomotive. That does not make it a rocket.

Where do you work at? Not in the Northeast. We are told to "find something wrong" with everything that everyone does or "we will start looking at you." The culture here is highly toxic.

Empower and inspire are out the window. Unless maybe you run a team of the H1B's in which case your work is done for you as they are already scared to death and grateful for whatever pay they get.

It is better to align yourself here with the masses, no matter the outcome.

This is greed demands.

I think I was at that meeting with RV, except I was RIF'd in December.

That's the spirit @mos! You too CAN make a difference. Verizon can once again be great! Yeah right....get out while you can.

This post is not why people feel defeated. The entire culture of Verizon has shifted, and not for the better. Wireline is dead, wireless is dying. Go90 and HUM are a joke. The executive team consists of old white men who are a--holes. How do you think this will get better?
