Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

OCATS is next

OCATS is next to be hit but so far who is being kept quiet. latest is the field support groups under 2 directors will be moved to wireline in states being considered for sale to Frontier. Pressure on the AM's to push training and other accomplishments is a smoke screen to use for the downsizing. Mid year ratings are being seen as an excuse to cut. downsize will be very quiet to avoid bigger problems. Executives telling people OCATS is in good position to survive was all part of the direction given to 3rd and above.

Mid year will be the point for the first reductions. Word is those who are not up to training requirements.

Maybe a wireline group. Not in Mobility. We do our own support or use contractors for some outside stuff.

OCATS IT support was hit last month. Some retired and some moved to other jobs. We cannot get the number that actually lost their job. Apparently very secret.

We figure we will be good until the 3 quarter. 5 to 8 hours of training a week is all useless and is basically busy work.

AM's were told to have 30% in the meets most or lower category. Not good.
