He is still insisting that all landlines are "twisted pair POTS lines"? Did he even read the post?..it doesn't matter if it is fiber or copper they run, BOTH are landlines obviously and not wireless. He doesn't even speak to the speculation that cellphone contracts will go the way of long distance, I guess he has no answer for that so he has to just keep repeating "telegraph lines" like that means something.

Maybe wireless should of been sold in favor of fios with wifi coverage. One bill, one service ....anywhere in the network.

The free wifi in NYC is probably backhauled with Ethernet or fiber, not twisted pair POTS lines.
Just because you see wires going to buildings, doesn't mean they are used. They are vestiges of an earlier time.
op, that's the big problem, Verizon has the general public and most of it's employees thinking that "landline" service is just home phone service. Wake up America, landline service is your internet, tv, and believe it or not there are still millions of both residential and business customers who rely on it for phone. And of course, that magical wireless network, it runs off of the landlines.
