1ofc, again you assume points that you make in your statements are fact. Its your opinion not fact. Union employees have experienced many situations ,so say that management may experience more is your opinion and highly unlikely ,due to the fact how much more experience the union worker has . Also you state " Many of us work on our craft and take opportunities to improve our value to the company", union employees work at their craft and better themselves everyday.

@gqa "You are the type of person who it has to happen to so that you will fully understand, walk a mile in my shoes"

Been there done that. I do fully understand. The point though is that management employees get to experience everything other Vz employees get to experience and maybe even more so sometimes. But the difference is that most of us don't think it is the end of the world. Many of us work on our craft and take opportunities to improve our value to the company. And should we be riffed, we use that to get to the next opportunity. We understand that a career is a series of steps, not an end to itself.

That's your problem you believe everything , facts are the only thing that matters

I don't think so. In fact I heard from someone in the know that they are expecting this to go on for weeks and weeks, so much so that they are now going to provide overtime for the non-EWA workers who are having to work longer hours due to their teammates being on EWA.

It's doubtful they would be doing that unless they knew they were in for a really long strike. It also goes to show they care about the employees.

I get the feeling these Union people think management employees are somehow immune from RIFs and that we'd act differently if we weren't.

Here's a newsflash. Nearly half my group has been riffed over the last several years. Does that change things somehow? Well, I certainly need to always be doing my best, but I still like working here. I enjoy my job. I like working for a dynamic company that is willing to take some chances to improve the bottom line and explore growth opportunities. That's what Ivan did with FiOS even when Wall St was against him. You win some and you lose some. Nothing is certain anymore. You do your best to enjoy the ride. And if you get riffed, then you hope you have done enough with your time here to improve yourself so you can quickly move on to something else.

This thread is just wishful thinking. There are no talks going on. At the end of the month, those who want to keep their jobs will cross. Those who don't will be gone. The CWA is finished at Verizon. They knew this back in August but Bernie convinced them to walk so he could a or media points ahead of the NU primary. Hope it was worth it.

EWA-ers, when you go back to your office, remember to keep a RIF box for your personal belongings under your desk

@GYORWBd-vgp must be one of those millennial milquetoast because he can't tell the difference between an 'air traffic controller working for the federal government, and a telecom worker working for Wall St. No wonder the company is so messed up now. Fortunately your rif will be coming within the next year or so.

R. Reagan, he knew exactly how to handle it. Everything seemed to all work out fine. Fire them all and bring in the NEW people that are WILLING to work with smiles on their faces.

@GYORWBd-itc - @GYORWBd-eme

This is NOT 2011 and many if not most managers are backing the union. Lowmac and his cohorts were new after the strike, and have done nothing but trash the company and employees since then. They don't even want to be in the telecom business anymore because it is too hard and complicated for them. Also, had the managers been out there during any of the storms that followed, the FCC and investors would have shut down the company.

This not 2011 and I hope the unions break it off in your stupid a$$

jae, your are misinformed, its a federal job . Verizon jobs are not federal job and Verizon union workers have a right to strike. Some people have no problem making an *ss of themselves.

60 contract workers brought in this morning down in Richmond, VA. Looks like the company's replacing your jobs. Remember what happened to the air traffic controllers. Went out back in the 70's and never got back because they all were replaced.

Thank God!! I have never driven so much in my life to accomplish next to nothing. I'd seriously like this EWA to be over so I can go back to the office. I NEVER signed up for this bologna!! NOBODY has a clue as to what's going on.
