According to Downdetector.com, it looks like FIOS on the entire Eastern seaboard is down. I wonder if the contractors are all H1B Visa people?

@zri. Does it matter? The company is not dumb. They had years to prepare for this and the union walked right into it. It ain't gonna end well for the membership but rest assured that the union leaders will come out of this as rich as ever.
I guess all Vz highly trained mangers couldn't handle it.
