I am a customer, love the product, would love if it was cheaper, but it's still OK, I recommend it to anyone. Why Verizon is not pushing this product with more force? I work in Oil and Gas and I've spent quite a bit of time on this board since I was laid off in March 2015, so I am not a Verizon insider. However, I read comments here that Verizon is not backing up FIOS and I rarely see ads for it? What's the logic behind this?

IQW it true. This lack of leadership team really has done nothing more than screw every single deal that they have ever gotten involved in. The choose Terremark and Hughes and Redbox, when they could have pursued and purchased better competitors to these three. But the executive egos got in the way of shareholder and customer value. Lowell and his team should have been fired right after that by the board. Insane.
Unfortunately lowmac, the Potemkin village idiot CEO, and his diversitized executive minions forced out all of their internal competitors who actually knew all of the inside stories, as well as the telecom business. So know that these weakest links and idiots have painted themselves into a corner, they are going to 'reinvent' the company as a mobile advertising agency. Where are the investment police?
Anyone who is familiar with fios knows that this is the absolute best of breed, but because wireless did not come up with it, it must be killed. Kind of like air to ground. Another missed opportunity, because 'wireless' did not come up with it. What a bunch of backward business retards.

op, I'll give you the straight up real and honest answer. I'll start off with some background information so you can see who we are dealing with here. Also, please read and comment on my post titled, "A Very Long and Very Important Question for Everyone." Verizon used to be a company that prided itself on being number one in customer service as well as number one in product services. Verizon was ALWAYS number 1 in both of the aforementioned areas but over the past few years has fallen back due to unethical and incompetent leadership. Also, the work atmosphere while at times being a bit tense was never toxic. Under the misguided direction of the current legion of doom, the work environment has become hell on earth, despite what you might hear from a few of the "VZ Teamer's." Since the new regime took over approximately 5 years ago, customer service on both the wireline and wireless sides of the business have been greatly compromised due to the large number of American workers that have been thrown aside and replaced by a dirt cheap foreign work force that doesn't have to play by the same rules as the American workers. The current CEO and his cronies have made some of the worst business decisions in the history of mankind and yet they still have their jobs and are being paid astronomical amounts of money to basically destroy the company both financially and emotionally. Over the past 5 year period, we are talking about approximately $150 BILLION that has been spent on terrible investments and placed so much debt on the head of this company that it is now backed into a corner and has been forced to sell off most of it's assets throughout the U.S. Over that five year period these poor decisions have also cost approximately 35,000 Americans to lose their jobs, again, while the executives who are making all of the wrong decisions continue to make more and more money every year.
So, now for the fios. I know from both having and working on the fios services that it is without a doubt the best service in the U.S. The problem is, as you may have read in many of the reply's throughout this forum, Verizon has the general public and in many cases it's own employees convinced that "landline services" are dead. The truth of the matter is that the copper service technology is slowly being phased out yes, for the simple fact that it is a very old technology and even though in some cases it may be more reliable, it simply is too expensive to repair and or replace. Fiber optics (fios) on the other hand is by far the best way to transmit data and is the primary backbone for the wireless network. Of course Verizon does everything possible to avoid admitting this to the general public. Had Verizon hired a competent CEO when replacing the previous one, Ivan Seidenberg, who I must admit, compared to the current joker was an 11 out of a possible 10, fios would be everywhere. Everyone wants fios service but again this regime knows that to build out the network they would actually have to hire employees and their one and only goal is to get rid of as many employees, both union and non-union as possible. Verizon is about to start testing out 5g wireless service in some areas and once again the fiber optic lines (landlines) will be the backbone. While 5g will be great for use outside of the home for obvious convenience, it still will be nowhere near as reliable as a hard wired connection to the home. Don't be surprised if in the very near future Verizon sells off the remaining fios and copper landline areas, and if they keep the current leadership team for wireless, goes straight to bankruptcy court followed by closing the doors altogether.

It's outdated and expensive. In a few years everything will be wireless.
