This coming Friday I'll see the first of my EWA OT. The first Friday of May, if they stay out the rest of this month, will be more than twice my normal paycheck. I'm not complaining. I'm blessed to have a very supportive family. But when will the lock out and permanent replacements be brought in?

Not sure if that is still the case but from 2011 experience, verizon is relieving you after 3 months with replacement.
Not sure if it is the case this time either but you get EWA vacation after 3 weeks.
Those are probably crowdaround questions. but everything looks chaostic this week. Even the code for timesheet was not finalized till Friday.
After two or three weeks, your body and mind kinda hit the limit and will test you. I did 80-90 hours before when I was an installer long ago and when I was single but it will be still difficult and more with family now for 72hrs per week.

@etg.......You hit the nail on the head, .It reads like you have been there , done that , like me during the 2011 strike .... Nice hotel rooms, endless good food , really good OT $$$$ pay(SAVE IT ALL) , ... but they do not replace your own home and family. and I was RIF'd in 2015 ....So EWA-ers whatever the Union gets in new contract will be paid for by you and many others being RIF'd after the Strike...Bet on it.
Between the 7th and 14th day it becomes at 12X6 week, then after the 3rd week it becomes 12X5.
12x7 indefinite schedule.........you are out of your element, don't sleep right, don't eat right, and high stress levels. Just a matter of time before your body rebels and you become ill. Perhaps you are lucky enough to be working from home and take some comfort there however if you are living out of a suitcase in a motel room and sick as a dog crawling out of a strange bed to work 12 hours a day everyday.......well you get the drift. Your mind will begin to question just what am I doing here and is this really worth it as you worship the porcelain God in the bathroom. You will find out, and I hope you feel better!
Long enough to screw some concessions from the union, then it's back to the same old song and dance. You'll be sweating some massive rounds of RIFs coming your way. You will long for the good old days of 12X7.
...and by this time next year, you will be riffed and looking for a job.
Believe me EWA-er , the Reality of the 12x7 days will hit hard on your mind and body next week. (Veteran EWAer)

My peers and I
@srd I've seen nothing but support and carring from VZ. And because of their support, I and my peers can keep going 12X7 indefinitely.
As soon as you guys drop dead, they really care about you.
