Proud scab here, can't wait to roar past the picket line today. My friend, former CO tech for AT&TBSO got hired by Verizon friday. He was laid off by AT&T a few months due to a process change and is happy to have a job. He was former CWA, refuses to join the union again. Said they did nothing for him except ask for more more more.

egn! Vz is already profitable to the tune of $18,000,000,000 a year, but 60% of my team were laid off, including me. The manager, also laid off, explained to those of us being let go that it was the vodaphone purchase that drove the company into massive debt. Vz profits didn't save the thousands of wireless/wireline people who lost their jobs because of the vodaphone, egotistical purchase. And why? Just so vz could say : look at us, we're the biggest wireless company.

For all those lucky enough to still have a job you cannot, foolishly, allow yourself to believe that vz profits will safeguard you and your families future. The only exception is the c suite execs and if you, egn, are one of them, then without doubt, life is good for you.

Since when are Verizon Union members a representative model of American workers ? More like American slackers that want more than what they are worth. Verizon would be better off negotiating a deal to slowly phase in contract workers who would be more economic and would allow for productivity to be measured. Better yet, sell it like the rest of the wireline operations. Let someone else run it more efficiently.

GXY, does not know the truth.

Makes up lies to feel good.

everyone, including upper management is replaceable.

The people who created the network, can train them, and in a few years 5G will replace the last mile.

4 years from now, the Union will be about 25 -30 K workers, and the next contract will stink again.

Is upper management greedy?, yes, is the union unrealistic? yes.

Get off you high horse, and come back to work.

@GXYAAvn-egn and the OP don't know jack about jack. Verizon is out to undermine the American worker.

The OP doesnt work for Verizon. Just someone who knows the real world. The company doesnt owe you anything no matter how profitable they are. And if you were smart, you'd want your company to be profitable so you keep your job.

Anyone on EWA has a position that is not really important to the company.
