This is for all those managers who tow the company line! The pipe dream you had when you were hired is over. No matter how much assyou kiss or how many union brothers you suspend for bullshit (stuff I see you committing everyday,every strike)! you're less than worthless to this company they don't care about you! Truth is they don't care about anyone. You see, we are skilled labor like it or not, we maintain and install: Fios,pots,Dsl, T1s,fire alarms,911 just to name a few. If my manager was riffed tomorrow they'd get somebody off the street and they'd be screwing up my time sheet in no time. Let me be fair though there are managers out here I respect and like and I wish them the best while on EWA.

I agree that the union has skilled individuals that allow this company to grow and be successful. I also agree that those individuals deserved to be compensated like you would an electriction or plumber. It's a skill that you master after years on the job.
That being said I don't agree paying someone $35 an hour to pick up a phone and be rude to the customer. Not help them or grow the business. Do everything to avoid doing thier work and using the union to protect them. That's were I despise the whole thing. The techs are skilled workers that have been thru a lot and deserve the respect and compensation they earned. This is coming from a manager on EWA.
Telling you now this is why the call center jobs will be eliminated since anyone can do it. Doesn't take much to take a payment or look at an account. It's what the website does but no website can come out and repair your line when it's out.

First its "toe the line", but what you say is absolutely true. Another 20% of managers are expected to be fired within 12 months of the stike ending. Right now the company is blowing smoke to keep the manager's spirits up, but that is it. They company really does not care about you one bit. "This ain't your mama's telephone company anymore!" That is a shame.
