Amen, 1trk. In 2011 they went back to work too quick for me to earn all the extra money I was hoping to make. But I did make plenty.

I'm making $100 an hour to do your job (more effectively). My mileage is paid. I'm being given two meals a day. Stay out as long as you want.

Hahaha. What a joke. I mean the small team which only have two members. Why there are two people a team? Ask what you union guys did during last strike. The whole big team is 30. My husband finished 6 tickets 'yesterday'. Therefore, 90 tickets totally. Besides, they still need to eat something and drive from this location to another location. If you have worked for 20 or 30 years, you better be faster than they do. They just began to do these tickets from Wednesday evening. Think about it you moron.

"His team" did 6 tickets today. What a joke. We all work individually and get 2 new installs and 2 repairs done within 8 hrs. Oh u dont know what a full install is. You will find out soon enough

Ha! When i worked there the load was 240 tickets with 90% new installs. 90 troubles? sh-- i could get all trouble tickets i can fix a dozen and still be done by 2pm. Be proud of your 6 troubles cleared. I bet most were a beeping battery. Dont scratch your head on that one too long. Customers are waiting.

I learned your job in a day... one f---ing day. We don't even need to work in teams anymore. We're tearing into these trouble tickets like a hot knife through butter. All the union demands would come at the expense of non union workers like me so to hell with them. Break them Lowell...lock them out. We haven't even broken a sweat yet.

Going out is the sacrifice me and my Union brothers and sisters have to do in order to get what we can. Don't blame us cause we get more. Blame them cause they give you less. So sad to hear that. My husband's location is totally fine. His team finish all 6 tickets. The whole team was 90 tickets a day. More tickets today. But all of my husband's colleague were technician before.

Lol....I'm very real and have been working 14 hour days since Wednesday. The guys they sent me to do opt work are all IT people who have no idea about anything in the outside world.

I'm management and its total chaos where I'm working.. The load is very high. Takes at least 4 guys to fix one simple trouble. I hope you guys come back soon because nothing is getting done without you.

Scab or not is just semantics. We are doing the jobs the union people refuse to do right now. Why? Because we work for Verizon and this is what we have been told to do. And if we get fired for refusing, I can guarantee you the union will not back us up. So this is the only course of action we can take. Plus, many of us believe the union execs are only trying to save their skins with this action. You and they know the writing is on the wall. And why is the writing on the wall? Because the union has gotten out of control and become a hindrance to efficiency and cost control. You want job security? Go find a good non-union shop somewhere like where my pop worked for his whole career. No union, no labor issues. And right in the middle of union territory.

@rpg - You're right. I think because I was on the last strike and experienced some severe, angry behavior, I make that connection in my head. it's this automatic response now of "Whoa, super angry at me for some reason but keep in mind, not everyone is like what I experienced last strike duty."

So in my head, I think of the violent encounters and being followed and remind myself that despite the anger, most union members are nothing like that.

where are you getting this "violence" from? I see no threats or violence in this thread, just a discussion of ideas.

I would have no problem if all workers in America could get a pension and good health care. I guess you guys do have a problem with that.

I am a democrat and have long supported candidates who support the unions.

I must do your job because you chose to strike. I dislike it, as well. However, you are unwilling to quit your job to find other benefits and pay - and I am, too.

When I see these angry comments by union members, I try to keep in mind that all union members are not prone to violence and most are fighting for their families - even if there is one screaming in my face as if they are fighting me personally. Some union members make that extremely hard.

Most Americans don't get the benefits that CWA and IBEW union members are getting. I don't.

I wouldn't leave my job and customers to fight for rights that 99% of them do not get. So I'm here to make sure that they get served and not picketing so that you get a pension and a 401k and don't have to contribute much to your healthcare, like the rest of Americans.

Why should a "scab" be on the picket line with you helping you get even more benefits that scabs and other VZ employees don't get? I have to live on my 401k at retirement, so why should I help you get improvements to your pension that you get along with your 401k?

I also have to pay a nominal amount per pay period for my health benefits, and I have no problem doing this because the benefits are extremely good. But why would I want to get on the picket line to help you not have to pay for health benefits like I do?
